It seems like almost a month ago that we got confirmation that GNex accessories had arrived in Verizon stores. Why in the world did Verizon send accessories to stores weeks before the phone's release???
Make sure that you dust off those accessory boxes when you finally buy them.
Probably because the phone was supposed to be out by now, but they changed their minds.

I live in Mt Laurel off Rt 38. I actually waited in line at the Verizon on 73 near Cracker Barrel the morning the X came out. It's like 7 minutes away from my house and I have another corporate store 1 mile from my house, but they opened an hour later.
Grew up in Gloucester Township (not city, Blackwood/Laurel Springs area). We aren't quite as dense as North Jersey near New York City (yuck), but we are still very dense around Philly.
Tons of South Jersey love in this thread. I'm originally from Medford Lakes, now in Deptford. Let's all meet at a PJ's and drink our Nexus sorrows away.

They were probably there on time for the intended release date.
When I was directed by Amazon & Verizon to go to a store for a SIM swap, they messed up and activated an existing line on my new device and, blah blah blah... long-story-short: when things were done, they promised to waive my activation fee AND the new line I activated was somehow instantly eligible for an upgrade (shhhh). So maybe you can turn this into something good... y'know, "for your trouble."
Hey thank you for that suggestion. It seems that this was the CostCo reseller's mistake (or perhaps mine for proceeding w/the transaction even when the online forms didn't provide options for my case), but the VZW support person was very apologetic and maybe I can get something out of this.
FWIW, I really don't like this whole business of needing a brand new SIM card every time you activate 4G devices on VZW. My family doesn't upgrade very often, but it shouldn't be a disaster when we do.

I'm going to be really honest with you guys. I highly doubt pre-orders will start tomorrow. As you may know I use to be an Assistant Manager for Gamestop for many years. Usually when a new game was going to be available for reserve there would be a conference call the day before from the District Manager(usually early in the day, noon-2pm) letting us know to push it for good numbers. Which was then relayed to the CSR's. Which brings up the fact that nobody with a "source" in VZW has any solid info because there isn't any info to be had. Just my thoughts take it how you will.

GPA19 with V6SuperCharger and Swapper 2 is what I have on my OG Droid and it is super fast now. I also ran SDmaid to clear out duplicate files etc. Without all of these mods there is no way I could have hung in here this long for the GNex.

My issue with the whole thing is that we haven't heard any info at all from any reliable sources in a while...I'm hoping it means they are just being careful w/ leaks for this launch and really it could be here any day...I'm afraid to think of the negatives(ie major problems w/ the device)

I'm about 10 minutes south of the Burlington Bristol Bridge off Route 130. I've been to the PJs in Cherry Hill - good times

When I imported my wife from east SJ (Waretown, bay side around LBI) I got her hooked on PJs. The hot and honey wings are the greatest invention ever, though the pulled pork sandwich or crab cake sandwich (when they used snowflake rolls) are up there. I prefer the Haddonfield one the best, but I have a buddy that bounces at the Cherry Hill one and one that tends bar there as well. Either one you pick the female workers are very nice.

Please give me 2 hours warning and directions. I am coming.

I somewhat agree with you, but, doesn't Verizon do pre-orders online? Maybe you can't pre-order in the store, so, only corporate would need to know that it's going to happen. Also, Verizon doesn't want to push this phone, that is pretty clear at this point.
I am doubtful that we'll see anything tomorrow, but, at this point, nothing would surprise me.
Medford is the only one in NJ I haven't been too. Only been to the township (Washington) one for lunch a few times. Maple Shade is good if you don't like crowds and has a some what manageable parking lot which is sacrilege for PJs.

Been on that bridge twice (15 minutes away)... it really scares my wife and I don't blame her.

No worries, the wings will accomplish the same thing. It's a win win.

The one in Cherry Hill on 70 is the one I usually end up at, now that the one in Lakes isn't within walking distance anymore. Tends to be a middle point for most people.

I remember doing the sign-up for the Bionic... They sent an email about it prior to posting the Bionic on their website. Maybe, just maybe we will hear something soon... I mean the original sign-up for google, Samsung and Verizon, then not use all those precious email addresses?

Yea but this is Verizon. They seem to think it's more important to keep it secret then have their employees informed.
What do you think is better? Order pre-release or pickup on day of release in-store?
I prefer instant gratification and making sure everything is in-line with my unlimited data. So, In-store for me. However, if they start putting stuff on it I will become Incredible Hulk. NO ONE touches it. Let alone put dumb apps on it I will never use.

I've rarely have that issue w/ my Verizon store...for my thunderbolt they just activated the 4g similar card, put it in, and handed the phone too me...now my D1 was a different story but I needed the help there(1st android device)

Name calling ok if target is a public figure of any sort and language used is within forum guidelines?
To a point.

Cheers, many thanks!
That said, BMX and p3droid are members here - if they join in the talks here in our forums (as BMX did during the Thunderbolt launch), then we will back them as we would anyone else with a no name-calling rule for common courtesy and dignity.
Please think of it like any other venue you know - it's ok to call the President some rough stuff on a forum because you may disagree with his public policies - but if he comes and has a town meeting, all are expected to just be polite and call him Mr. President. He enters the room knowing he has supporters and detractors and that decorum removes personalities and fosters discussion of issues. That's the best analogy I can give.
And as was done for the Bolt launch, if either would like to come here to talk, they'll be afforded their own thread as befitting their community status on this matter.
Please note the first sentence, please keep the expressions within the site rules.

Exactly - it's all about the context.

The discussion here is about the carrier and/or their sales reps -- the response here goes to our fundamental site rule of politeness.
Some have encouraged harassing CSRs or mail bomb campaigns. (See Rob's words on this.) That's not polite, it's not the AF way, we won't let AF become a springboard for it.
OK to ask CSRs things (naturally, that's their job) and ok to report what you find or think. Not OK to do it just to prove CSRs aren't bright and not OK to take one bad experience and then slag every salesperson or CSR ever born. It's not ok to harass people whose hands are tied and discuss or brag on it here. Fair is polite, not fair is not polite.
OK to express opinions and frustrations - otherwise - what would be the point in this climate?
~~~~~~~
Expletives deleted. We've got a word filter, we don't like it bypassed with stars because the word is really still there. This is not a new site policy, that's always drawn a mod edit when noticed.
Euphemisms are ok, as you'd hear on TV - freaking, etc etc. Some of us are old enough to remember Sarge from the Beetle Bailey comics - he often said to the troops in the kiddie's funnies - @~#///&!!! and that was good enough to get the idea across but it kept it fun and friendly. (note that the expression length and makeup makes it generic, unlike the usual use of stars)
Bottom line - these are not new rules for the site, they've always been there, but there are nuances that we're always happy to clarify within threads upon request.
Mods don't make policy nor pass arbitrary judgement - we just follow and stress the existing rules. Please contact any of us on mod staff if clarification of a rule is needed - please contact Phases if you disagree with a rule in principle.
Our doors are ALWAYS open.
