Ninja'd by me a couple pages ago, EarlyMon. It's okay, we'll forgive you since it's a cool article. There was a minor worry when we could only find 512 MB of RAM, but after some sleuthing and checking on other sites, we discovered that the other 512 is in the Multichip Memory Package.

Well, I add to the rumor mill. Pydepypper retweeted from bgill55 that there would be a pre-order first week of December with release on 15th. add your salt of choice.
Of course new rumors are pushing us back another week. Next week we'll be discussing the 22nd, and so on and forth. This is moving beyond ridiculous.

I don't use Google+ much and I can't seem to find him on Twitter, but does anyone know a way to reach out to Matias Duarte? Just curious if he's made any follow up comments on the whole "you'll see the GN launch in Nov." comment on The Verge.

I doubt he cares all that much, and even if he did he doesn't have any power to change anything. Verizon has Samsung/Google by the nads.

Well, I just called to activate my husband's new Revo (his first ever Android! No more Omnia! Yayyy!). While we were waiting for activation, the rep asked me if I had any other questions. I said "Weeeeeellll, I'm waiting to upgrade my phone too, whenever the Galaxy Nexus is released. you wouldn't know anything about that would you?" He laughed and said he wished. Then we geeked out about all the cool new ICS features. Really nice to actually get a CSR that knows their stuff.
Oh, and I did clarify too- even if your contract expires, you will keep your unlimited data as long as there is some sort of smartphone on your line. So yay.

But as someone already pointed out; you're not going to gain anything informative regarding this release. Its always a good idea to circle interesting people though-- thats how you become more active on G+. I've tuned fBook completely out. I use a chrome extension to keep up with good friends on there but I haven't gone to the site to post or read since I dove into G+.

I feel like being the "architect" behind ICS, he'd have at least a bit of stake and interest in how soon the flagship 4.0 device gets into peoples' hands.
I'm sure he has no influence over Verizon's dealings with it, but just curious if he knew anything about the release...
Device(s): VZW Galaxy Nexus - rooted - ROM is JBSourcery - the best ROM I've ever used

This made me laugh and my daughter looks at me and asks if I'm ok. I'm just not sure I can say truthfully say yes.

i think you have misunderstood him or have him confused with someone else. all he said yesterday was that authorized retailers were able to preorder, not the general public

Guys, I just want to apologize for the chaos I made. I said what I felt, but I think I could have done a better job handling it.
My wife read a few of the pages during the fallout, and said, "My, someone thinks he's the center of the universe doesn't he?"
I'm sorry that I dragged everybody into my disappointment. You guys deserve better than that.
Again, I apologize.
Must have missed out on it, but, I certainly know a lot of peoples' nerves are nearly gone and tempers are flaring (as evident with the amount of posts deleted, accounts on probation, banned etc.). We all just need to hang in there together. We're on the home stretch!

don't you do it, don't apologize, no need. We are all understanding and we all move on,everyone is just happy to have another mouth to feed with information, and one that often feeds the rest as well :-)
I'm pretty surprised the Rezound doesn't have more buzz. It does seem like a really nice phone.
Guilty by association with the Thunderbolt IMO. Even though I have read many posts indicating it is not anything like the Thunderbolt, I for one am very apprehensive about it. Also it ships with Gingerbread.
There's something about all the testing and optimization of the software/hardware with ICS and Galaxy Nexus that appeals to me over the rest of Verizon's new high end devices. If I do pass on Galaxy Nexus, if say it doesn't release this year, I will wait for the next ICS optimized device that appeals to me. I would rather have a phone that was developed with ICS from the start.
Nothing against RAZR and Rezound, but I wonder if those devices went through any testing with ICS before they released. If Google sent early versions of ICS to the manufacturers with late 2011 device releases. Has the dev community ported ICS to these devices yet? Sorry if that is a stupid question...I really haven't been paying too much attention to those devices.
This brings to mind another question when will all new Android phones launch with ICS? I don't want to wait anymore, but I'm starting to get used to it.

The Galaxy Nexus is the third official phone contracted by Google and the first phone to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, a 4.65 inch 720p HD Super AMOLED... Read More
