I mentioned earlier here that I was also told by a Verizon store manager that release would be in Q1. She knew of the Nexus, spoke intelligibly about it and did not flinch, pause or blink an eye when she said "Q1". In other words -- be her information right or wrong --- I suspect she heard it from somewhere and it was not the web.
Considering her own company's press release contradicts this statement, and we have from near the top that Q1 is only a contigency if the bugs can't be fixed (which by the way testers say the latest update looks very promising)... I would say her info is probably incorrect at this point in time.

Good morning Nexlings!!
We are one day closer in our quest for Nexus love. Let's continue to play nice and make this as pleasant as we can and as easy on the mods as possible.
For those who requested the many avatars to be in one place, I made an album of them right here on AF.
Quick update regarding return policy as I know it's been debated here. I got sick of waiting and ordered a 4s online. OG Droid is now 35% functional and needs to be at 100%, mainly for work email. (There's a lot of emailing in the marketing industry)
After placing my order I called *611 (or whatever the number is) to specifically inquire about return policy. The CSR first told me that it was 14 days from when the phone ships. I told her I thought it was 14 days from activation and that my reason for asking is because I really want the Galaxy Nexus. She asked me to hold while she researched. When she came back she said I was actually now within their Holiday Return Period and I would have until January 5th to return the phone.
I could be wrong, but I believe the extended holiday return policy EXCLUDES the iPhone.
I'd suggest you check on that unless you want to be stuck with an iPhone.

I'll assure you that a store manager has no idea of product launches that far out.
It's cute that you're digging at the store level, but they are less informed than many in this thread. The manager knows of a launch when the marketing materials arrive via email and parcel. Their job is to manage the store and assure sales of the phones that are out.

That's pretty smug dude... you don't know what her connections are.

In late August, my OG Droid had died. I had the phone warranty, so I went to the Verizon store to get a replacement.
The person at the store said I was due for an upgrade, but I told him I was waiting for a phone that was coming out in the beginning of September. He asked what phone, and I told him the Bionic (after the reviews, I never got the bionic, I'm still on an OG Droid). He then told me that he bionic was not coming out until November.
The Bionic was released September 8th, which was 2, maybe 3, weeks from when I was in the store.
Do some people at Verzon stores know what they are talking about? Maybe, but I am VERY skeptical of anything they say.

Morning everyone. Caught up (only 13 pages!) from last night and it seems that we may have good news from P3Droid, huh? December 8th falls within 14 days of today so its still looking promising as does the link a few posts above.
Still undecided if I want to pre-order or wait to get it in store so I can have it that morning. Anyone know what they are doing and why?
Hope to keep the mood positive in here today. Its already Wednesday too -- if December 8th is the date we have 8 days left for this thing. And to think we were all worried by the 12/8 date, phew!

Oh c'mon Steven, we go through the same thing at 7AM everyday. They just come back on Twitter to help.
BTW VZWSupport on Twitter is an awesome Customer Service feature - I love companies in social media.

a few days ago he tweeted that we'd hear it from him first.... bbl.
Nah. Just another day. P3 got a baseband update that seems made an improvement in connection strength and he also claims phone will drop within 14 days.
Ifixit also posted their teardown, so we now know exactly what hardware we're looking forward to...
How could I, no name was given. I work for McKinsey & Company, Google us and find out what we do. You'll get a better understanding on why I say that a store manager isn't privy to this information.

P3Droid says the phone will be in our hands within the next 14 days..here's the tweet and quote (as referenced earlier by someone else) for those who don't have access to twitter.

C6StingRay wademac @P3Droid Thanks for the updates P3, especially this latest news...eagerly awaiting a release date from Verizon to enjoy the awesomeness!
@P3Droid P3Droid @C6StingRay if you don't have a nexus in your hands in less than 14 days I'll eat my phone.
That with BritishTurbo's info on the phones being in Verizon warehouses...I think a release on December 8th is looking pretty good. I'm becoming optimistic!

Not sure why so many people are hung up on the press release. Yes, Verizon did say it would be out this year. But that's subject to change, especially if they find bugs during testing. They'll probably hold off on a second press release saying it's going to be delayed until right before the end of the year. No point in coming out with it now.
Verizon would have to be moving pretty fast to get stuff up for tomorrow... If the latest test update just went out yesterday. That doesn't give them a lot of time to test and decide its good enough to set dates.
