I know this is all speculative. I was curious if there had been any source that had indicated it was Pentile, or if this was an assumption because the Galaxy S phones were Pentile.
Most sourced said that Super AMOLED HD screen on Prime will be pentile. I think Samsung's recently announced Galaxy Note, HD SGSII also have pentile HD screens. As far as I know non-pentile HD using RGB stripe won't come this year.

Honestly while im estatic of the speed bump, I'm perfectly fine with the speed and response of my nexus one. A few hiccups here and there but nothing too bad. So Omap or Exynos won't really matter to me. Both will be a huge jump in my eyes. Really looking forward to the increase in memory, screen, and camera.

It may not be a better choice when it does arrive. At that resolution I'd probably only want it if its brightness and battery usage is as good as the initial Pentile version, and I don't think that's likely.

I still say that most analysts simply read what we Android users think and then dress it up and take it out.

The thing that will decide Prime v. RAZR for me is battery life, period. For 99% of users, both will be fast enough, both will have good enough cameras for a phone, both will have good call quality, both will have tiny, little inconsequential quirks that don't matter in the big picture, both will have great screens with slight differences, but if either demonstrates a meaningful advantage in battery life, they gots my vote. I be wantin' to nots charge my phone any more than I have to. And I nots be wantin' to get an extended battery that makes my thin phone thick. I DEMAND a full day's moderate (not "Ooh I just gots my new phone so I be usin' the crap out of it!") LTE usage. Samsung? Moto? Which one of you is going to step up?

Let's keep our eyes on Korea. The SGS2 LTE HD comes the closest to the maybe specs of the Nexus Prime, with some exceptions. It would be very easy to put it in a Verizon case. Does anyone know when it is supposed to come out in Korea?
Samsung Announces SGS2 HD LTE, Preview Of The Nexus Prime?
Posted In News - By David Rahimi On Monday, September 26th, 2011 With 2 Comments
Samsung is adding two new phones to their Galaxy S II lineup, the Galaxy S2 LTE and the Galaxy S2 HD LTE. Both of these phones look to be packing some serious power with 1.5 GHz dual-core processors and 1 GB of RAM. But before you get your hopes up, you should know these phones are headed only to Korea (so far).
The Samsung Galaxy II LTE is very similar to what we have already seen stateside in Sprint’s Epic Touch 4g with the exception of its 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and LTE capability. Its looks very, very nice. But what has us really excited is its big brother: The Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE. Check out its specs below:
4.65 inch Super AMOLED Plus display at 1280×720 (720p) resolution
1.5 GHz dual-core processor
1 GB of RAM
1850 mAh battery
Android 2.3.5
Other than the version of Android, these specs are almost identical to what we were hearing regarding the Nexus Prime (or Nexus Galaxy, or whatever they end up calling it). With the announcement of this phone, especially with the announcement of the Nexus Prime due to be coming in the next few weeks, we can definitely see the specs of the Nexus Prime matching those of the Galaxy S2 HD LTE. And that my friends should get your hopes up!

I wouldn't trade for a 5% better looking screen (using some metric) with a 25% loss of battery life.
The article said LG's was better than AMOLED in a bunch of ways, but they didn't say Super AMOLED, so I don't know what that really means.
oh sure, make up number to support your case

In a report recently issued by international product testing and certification agency Intertek, IPS displays perform better than AMOLED in areas of color accuracy, brightness, battery efficiency and performance.
eh, i dunno. i can't tell the difference between my brothers phone and my wifes. his has super amoled+, she has super amoled. look the same to me. i'm stuck on lowly amoled. so anything is an upgrade for me

I agree mostly except for camera, OS, UI. Moto has yet to prove they can deliver decent phone camera. Prime will have faster android updates and it doesn't have heavy overlay UI like Blur.

I hear you but I dunno anymore. An old Motorola Die Hard FanBoy I have been disappointed as of late by Moto.
That Bionic in my eyes is a large failure with its lousy display and camera. There is more but that's another thread.
Samsungs cameras have been the best in my eyes and I am a photographer.
don't know about the Razar thouh.

while we all obviously wish for your safety, frankly, i think it's horribly insensitive for you to not immediately pull off to the shoulder instead of waiting until you get into the office. given the size of this thread, the number of participants, and the number of views, odds are that there's somebody on the road with you checking this thread. what happens if they run you into an abutment, and we never get the info?!?!
edit: i see you made it. nevermind, then. glad you're safe...

*snip personal stuff, which I'll summarize at the bottom of this*
What you can tell the gang:
The idea I'm getting from official testers is that the screen and user experience is much better in the Nexus device, and the overall advantage is the presence of Ice Cream Sandwich (I've personally noted this to be true). But I've also been told by those who have tested it that the RAZR is very fast, smooth, and has a great battery life. The screen, although not quite up to Nexus, is a big improvement over the Bionic for those who didn't like it. Verizon is very, very excited for both devices. I don't get the feeling they're "siding" with one over the other, but I can tell you that they never had a lot of confidence in the Bionic having a lot of staying power. Their decision to release the Bionic as is was more of a contractual obligation than a real belief in the product. They are much more invested in the RAZR.
Okay, that's all I think I'm comfortable letting them know.
Oh, except that they will see something soon on when ICS and Nexus will be announced (it's not 10/27). FCC worries are a non-issue.
Thanks, Steve!
*Summarized personal stuff:
1) Source is amazed at how fast this thread is moving!
2) Source is not a beta tester but has handled the NP.
3) Source has not handled the Vigor or Razr, but speaks often with colleagues who have.
