I just refer back to the fact that P3Droid just received update 4.02 and that update as he states improved his connectivity.
Given that fact and rumors stating that the device is still in testing because of a bug....I would assume that maybe there is a connectivity issue with 4G LTE with the Nexus that they are attempting to work through before they release another phone on their network that has the same issue as every other device they have rushed through.
But then again that's my opinion....
My opinion is that of the 3 to 4 devices released or to be released over the holidays this year, this one one should have been targeted for the front of the firing order if'n they were looking to satisfy customer demands rather than attemting to define customer demands. If 4.0.1 was equal or better connectivity wise to RAZR and Rezound this phone shoulda been out in the same timeframe as those two and first outta all if at all possible.
In general though ALL device testing and quality goals in releasing a device should be the same for EVERY device period. Even better device testing and quality and even support should be left to the device manufacturer if you really aren't interested in being a device retailer anyhow as many claim of VZW. It seems quite clear though the only way VZW can legally control which devices are used on their network under the latest FCC rules is if they are the primary device retailer for all devices compatible with their network.
Playing with my husband's new Revo.
1)Holy crap that thing is bloated. I really didn't understand what the fuss was about bloat til now, my D2 is nothing compared to that. also, curse Bing. Ew.
2)I'm so pissed he has a new phone and I don't. This is the first time ever he has a newer phone than me lol. I thought for sure I'd have mine first. Sigh.
To kill some boring waiting time for Gnex, I looked at some Transformer Prime video. This one looks amazing and looks like 3D game on Tegra3 tablet will be awesome.
Ok.. went to my local corporate Verizon store. I spoke to a salesman who knew about phones. Refreshing.
Do you remember I said one Razr was hot? It was again. I called him over to ask him why. He pointed up to spot lights to show me that they were making the phone run hot.
That explains that. Still, the other screen on that side weren't as hot, but they warm.
We got to talking. The razr is really nice but he told me to wait for the nexus. After talking a bit, he volunteered that he had actually help the European Nexus as well as the LTE one. He told me that a tester had come into the store looking for accessories.
I asked him if it felt cheap/plastic-y. He said no. It was a nice feel and the screen was amazing looking. He did say he liked the way the razr looked more business-y, with the angles and such but recommended I wait for the Nexus, which was in final testing and would be released soon.
My ears perked up when he said he actually held it. He said he was going to one. We're close.
OPEN LETTER TO VZW:
Please release this phone. I can't take this thread getting much bigger because it will become impossible for me to beat next time.
Thanks, bye.
Love,
Steven

Not sure if you saw it a bunch of pages ago but my mom saw an ad on screen for the Gnex at a Corporate Store and she also said the rep told her that the Samsung guy was in to show them our precious Gnex and that they all loved it! Corroborating info so it seems!
Does anyone else find it weird to see that some pics of the Verizon Nexus show gold connectors, and others silver?
Not at all. As a Photoshop user nothing surprises me. I did a zoom @ pixel level on the GN pic with the Verizon 4G logo on the back and see some grid pattern mismatches but am not crying chicken little. Its too close to call and there are some variables that can explain it one way or the other. I cannot help it, its the investigator in me, its what I do, and lovingly so.
Hence my Avatar change. Its how I look at everything coming in right now, not everybody, until I have that puppy in my hand.
The closer it gets the more fun it is...............
lol That reminds me. When I was in Best Buy getting my Rezound the sales rep and I were talking about the Nexus and he kept trying correct me. I would say something about really wanting the Galaxy Nexus and he would say, "The Prime should be a good phone." He did it about 5 different times. I kept thinking of that memo every time he said it.

Refreshing indeed! I get to play with the GSM one tomorrow (was supposed to be today, but he ended up not being able to come over to my location). And don't you worry about the next time... We'll come through for you no matter what
The video here shows the Verizon version. I always thought the images and videos there were the international versions.
Why is it every time I'm about to click on a link like this I expect to get rickroll'd? It's like having a rubberband stretched in front of my face. lol

Probably ninja'd, but here's an updated comparison between the LTE and GSM versions. Thanks Ytram!
For reference, here's the original one from the Best Buy shots. It looks completely different...
Maybe Best Buy put up shots of an old engineering model? *shrug*

Just when I was about to give up hope and become a productive worker again all of this info comes out! Thanks to everyone for the fine detective work! Unless of course we are not close to a release and then I will just wish no one had found anything.

Nice! Thanks for the info, Steven.

Hey OTD, have you run into the Rezound audio issues? We were wondering about it a few pages back.

I loaded it up on my fascinate and it is great. The fascinate rom is def. a daily driver for me. I was trying to hold off to save the excitement of seeing the Gnex run ICS but couldn't wait anymore. If the Inc 2 build is anything like what I'm running, you will love it!
Maybe we should compare the dates of the images for the Thunderbolt to its release... that might be a better indicator... (PLease don't hate me if they are weeks apart)

I thought that was the case, but when I asked in a separate thread, someone claimed VZW was extending that deal through the end of the year.
On a related note, I was told that this deal is only good for LTE devices despite data being 3G or 4G. I want to add a line for my dad but give him my X2 and put the SGN on my line, but I was informed by VZW customer service that the deal is paired with an LTE device. If the line loses the 4D hardware, it also loses the 4GB deal.

Yeah your comparison is much better than mine -- MSPaint is horrible for clearing background and such.
Interesting note via the power button symbol above/below.
