I actually ended up dropping my Blackberry in the water a few months back and was without a phone. Sis upgraded to a iphone 4 and gave me her old Blackberry. I'm stuck with the slow, ancient technology that RIM uses until Verizon releases the Nexus. Come on Verizon, end my suffering, lol.
I feel your pain. I'm rocking a 4+ year old BB 9000v1 with more issues than a 20 year old exotic dancer... It has taken a monumental act of willpower to continue waiting and not buy/rent a Razr or Rezound.

While we continue with in our ever increasing angst, can someone be so kind as to point out a couple of items for my to purchase on Amazon? I am looking for:
1.) The best screen protector for the Nexus.
2.) A USB flash drive adapter that will allow me to watch movies off a flash drive on my Nexus (preferably one with a cable that separates the flash drive from being in direct contact with the phone).
Thanks!

I could be wrong but I believe when he removed the search widget/app he still wasn't able to utilize that space for anything else. It just removes the search bar.
Exactly why Im certain LPP will be on my Nexus. At least at the beginning.
That would put a huge hole in the whole Isis agreement Verizon has... They would have to also block all the apps that use mFoundry in order to keep their monopoly.

Personally I will be using the same screen protector I've used for the past 2 years on my Android phone. It's never failed me. It's called AIR, and it's made by God.

Hey guys, here's my attempt at Hitler's latest rage at today's information. Don't flame too hard, its my first attempt at video editing. Also, its safe for work, no curse words, etc. Best I can do in 20 min while at work F5'n.

I'm in the same boat. I've had a BB for two years and had to have it replaced three or four times, I've lost count. The thing is a piece of garbage. Part of the reason for my recent addiction to this thread is that I hate my BB sooo much. I waited from May to October for the Bionic to finally come out only to be severly disappointed. And now I wait for the Nexus.... ehhhh

So this was from a local forum thread that were were talking about Carrier IQ (of course)
This guy says he works in operations for VZW. He has contributed to many other threads about VZW and Google in the past as well.
Just thought I'd add to the conversation, take a close look at the "P.S."

probably its as easy as naming a contact "900-080-004009" and having your friend text you saying the Nexus is ready for pre-order. someone should ask if thats legit or where that came from

that could be the case. what i doubt is the case if that he would knowingly pass on bad info or information from someone who just popped up out of the blue

Good point. But the various typos in the message make it less credible.
Have you ever dropped something sexy and naked? Guaranteed no matter what it is the results won't be good!
1 word: Warranty.
If your THAT paranoid, use that money towards an ADH warranty for ~85 dollars. Besides your paying $700 for a phone (if your off contract), you should treat it like its your 1st born child, and show it off as such.

$700
You are paying way too much for children.

I will most likely go caseless for this phone, but screen protector always for me. She's still sexy when all she has on is something see through.

I use the zagg.com invisible shield. They aren't fun to put on but they do what they are supposed to and have a lifetime warranty.
I live in an environment where Gorilla glass (or its generic equivalents) don't stand a chance against the type of sand we have here.
So, +1 on the Zagg Invisishield, I like 'em a lot, just stay away from the ones marked "smudge free" - no good.
There were also some hearty recommendations for another brand/type (Ghost?) a few pages back - I'll be looking at those next based on those recommendations.

Unless USB OTG (On-The-Go) is suddenly supported on the Nexus, #2 isn't going to do you any good, I'm afraid. Last I heard, USB hosting for media works on the Galaxy SII but not the G Nex. That's been one of the few things pissing me off about it. Non-storage devices might work.

HUUUUUGGGGEEEE fan of the Steinheil line. Have had one on my Dinc since Day 1 and it's brilliant. No distortion, no impairment of using the screen, goes on relatively easily (website has a video), and it comes in four options re: hardness, matte, smudge-limiting. $12-13 a pack with 2 to a pack.

I absolutely suck at putting those things on. Will best buy do it even if I don't buy the phone there? Or will VZW do it? I want someone to put it on for me, but also not screw it up like I will and will guarantee their work Otherwise, I'm just gonna go naked on this phone. I'm still debating a super thing case...just don't like the thought of adding size to the phone.
My partner (works for VZW corp) was selected to be part of a round table discussion meeting this morning for our region (the South region). In the meeting, the regional VP for the South for Verizon was there, along with the area president and district managers for various districts. The Regional VP announced in the meeting that the Nexus is coming on the 8th to VZW corporate stores and online. This matches with what P3 has been saying and what Verizon's own OMM marketing system has said for weeks now. The date is essentially set in stone at this point.
Another noteworthy piece: the regional VP said corporate is really excited about this phone. My partner told me he gets the feeling that corporate VZW expects it to be their first real successor to the OG Droid, and that it should share similar success.
