I agree... today, I had a major crack in my resolve though. On my drive home, my Charge froze and rebooted it self, while I was trying to navigate (had to get the pups food and I don't know the area around my new house too well). I THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING A FRUIT PHONE. I needed this news tonight, bad! But I will keep myself well distracted till the 8th, as long as it's out in December, I can make it! I will make it! The Nexus will be mine!

Dude, I rocked an almost completely useless storm 2 with a cracked screen for two painful weeks waiting for the Nexus, eventually I had to rent a Rezound as to not interfere with a project. YOU"LL MAKE IT
Edit: Oh, don't EVER think about getting a fruit phone again ;-)

Thanks for the reference lol...silence of the forum is coming soon
I feel kind of bittersweet about this, which is kind of funny, I've only been here on this forum since mid-November, but I've lurked here longer than that so I feel I've come to know everyone here (at least your virtual personalities!) and you all seem like really awesome, funny people. I am really happy I found this forum, particularly this crazy, epic thread! Although we still don't know for absolutely certain the launch date, I think I am finally confident that this will be the last "its only two weeks away" and I'm pretty relieved by that. I just want to finally get the thing in my hands!!!

How dare you even THINK about the fruit phone! Shame on you.
Nah I'm kidding :P

December 8th has been officially set as launch date (internally for now) and there are no further plans for any delays. I cannot talk about preorders however and please do not consider this at all an official announcement until Verizon says so but I hope many of you will find this helpful in your decision making.
Enjoy.

I'm sure you can understand if Verizon doesn't want to release that information to the public.
I'll be honest, I'm not going to reply to a lot of such comments as I'm not here to prove my credibility (hence why I stated from the start take everything I say as you will) but just wanted to clarify something.
December 13th was an internal launch deadline that was set regardless of the outcome of final testing as they only involved minor bugs. Verizon wanted to have this phone out by then even if it required a patch update post release.
December 8th has been set as the tentative launch date ever since the initial bugs were ironed out and only after the minor bugs were discovered, it was decided that a few days delay should become a possibility in case they couldn't guarantee December 8th due to ongoing testing.
However, the results are now in and they have been deemed acceptable hence the original date of the 8th is now internally official. I am only here to report this info and not to say that this is publicly set.
I really want to point out however to not take anything I say as official. We all know nothing can ever be 100% until you hear it publicly from Verizon (and even then last minute changes are always possible). I am only stating what is the current status.
I really appreciate all the thanks so far and I will update you guys if I hear anything else related to launch and preorders.

Quick question...
Earlier tonight someone was nice enough to link us to a movie where they gave us hints on how to run ICS the fastest it can be and so on. The movie showed the guy using launcher pro instead of stock ICS. Is everyone okay with that? Should we be thinking about a different launcher already? Thanks.
I am not going to state sources due to the recent credibility questions and such from everyone and I'm not allowed to state who they are either but I can gaurentee everyone will see this phone for sale before December 13th. It will be LTE, 32GB model, 1850Mah battery, coming with OS version 4.0.2. The most critical bugs have already been fixed and price will be $299 on contract and a little over $600 off contract. Verizon will make the annoucement the day of the sale and there will not as much marketing with this phone as with the Droid RAZR and HTC Rezound.
I cannot state anymore than this so everyone please take this as you will. I hope this information proves useful to some of you.
If this is the message that everyone is so excited about - aren't you a little bit more skeptical now that P3 got the 4.1.0 update??

Haha Woodstorm. Welcome to the madness that is Nexus
Thanks! Been keeping up via Twitter about the release. Really cool to see the image leaks yesterday came from here. This has always been a home. (Former Eris and present DX junkie).
Wasn't around for the INC release but was a regular on the TBolt thread. You folks are keeping me entertained far better than the Tbolt thread. This is how it should be.
Really want to see what this thing is capable of and if Steven keeps it stock.
The default launcher adds the ability to resize, scroll, or flick widgets. The only thing the default is only missing animations in widgets (like android Sense flip clock or Windows 6.5 Sense weather animation in the flip clock).
I am happy to be able to finally use the default launcher on my phone.
I'd like to mention I just turned off signature and avatars and the thread is much easier to read. Now if I could only turn off locations, device lists, and that way too large tip this button. All those one line posts wouldn't take up so much space.

Hmm..... so the 8th definitely confirmed then? Quick, somebody grab a hold of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) so that we can create wormholes and get fast forwarded to when the Nexus is released

As someone who enjoys the off-topic banter when he has time, but finds it annoying sifting through star wars/car pics/binary etc when he doesn't have time, I really appreciate the Hide tags. I think its a nice compromise to keep the off-topic banter, but not flood the forum. Thanks to whoever thought of it.

So, release on the 8th but preorder date is still not known if it even exists?
Per han's sister there will be a pre order, they sent out the prompt today. Per British Turbo it will be very short, which makes sense, cause other than the software, this phone is ready to go, and Verizon is actually itching to get this out.

Honestly, I've come to the conclusion that testman doesnt do anything or show anything useful anymore
That was proven during the Incredible threads. It doesn't stop posters from spamming that... or chat logs... or bothering store employees... or doing the smart thing and refreshing the thread before they post "breaking news" and then saying "ninja'd" when they really mean they are just a bit slow.
People are taking this "hide" thing too far IMO... after you've typed your post, read it and ask yourself "Does this have even the slightest thing to do with the discussion/the Nexus?"
If the answer is yes, don't put hide tags. It's a pain to have to click them all just to read your post.
If the answer is no, put them on. I don't care about sports or your social life.
Don't mean to come off as obnoxious about it, I'm just here for the Nexus and that's it

Sweet! I checked my work schedule and its open next Thursday. Looks like I will be able to take at least half the day off!
EDIT:
Han, it's me, Han. From the future. It's January on my side, and you've had the Nexus since Dec. 8. It's still an awesome phone.
But please listen to me, very carefully. On December 19 you will be called to New Jersey to visit Uncle you know who. If you decide to go, fine. But under NO circumstances are you to accept BB's invitation to beam with her!
It ends badly, my friend. It ends badly.
