One problem I had with this video is that I thought I heard/saw somewhere that swiping away apps in the task manager doesn't actually completely close the app. (ie it can still be running in the background) can anyone confirm from what they heard.
That was proven during the Incredible threads. It doesn't stop posters from spamming that... or chat logs... or bothering store employees... or doing the smart thing and refreshing the thread before they post "breaking news" and then saying "ninja'd" when they really mean they are just a bit slow.
sorry, i wasn't in the incredible thread. didn't mean to aggravate you, sir.
People are taking this "hide" thing too far IMO... after you've typed your post, read it and ask yourself "Does this have even the slightest thing to do with the discussion/the Nexus?"
If the answer is yes, don't put hide tags. It's a pain to have to click them all just to read your post.
If the answer is no, put them on. I don't care about sports or your social life.
Don't mean to come off as obnoxious about it, I'm just here for the Nexus and that's it
i am with you on this! while i am definitely guilty of posting off topic pics/info without a hide tag (i'm sorry mods!), it is annoying to have to click "show" on half of the posts on any given page.

I mean, that's largely irrelevant, it's the same as opening an app in Froyo/Gingerbread and then hitting the home button. The app doesn't actually close. The Android OS will close apps as it needs memory. That's how it's always operated.
maybe, as a result of all the random crap you guys put out, it would be better to just hide all of the nexus related material?
then it would really contrast.

I want ALL the DOCKS!!! I wish some official stuff was official, already. I'd really like docks that use the pogo pins for both home and car... I've mentioned it, already, but my OG Droid's USB port dropped it's contacts (birthed them) after years of abuse from cables hanging out of it at funny angles and putting weird pressure on it. AND I want a car dock that swivels so I turn it to portrait mode and see more of the road ahead of me when I'm in GPS mode. And I want a Pony.
The off-topic stuff is hilarious, especially how so many of us are hiding everything, even on-topic stuff... we're such a bunch of passive-aggressive brats.
I'm kinda happy about it, though. I didn't mind the car posts, I enjoyed the cars I've owned, but I'm a public transit user as much as possible, nowadays, so I could've pretended to be offended. I didn't mind the alcohol posts, even though I'm one of those crazy teetotalers... what really got on my nerves, though, were all the insane posts about dincs. I don't need to hear about your dying dinc, or how long your dinc lasts, or what kind of protection you use on your dinc, and I don't think we really need to brag about ours being bigger than the dinc thread. Well, as I did state before, I choose to keep my sources anonymous for variety of factors including the fact that many people question credibility and legitimacy. So like my original comment earlier in this thread: take this as you will and by no means should you consider this official until Verizon states it.
I'm sure you can understand if Verizon doesn't want to release that information to the public.
I'll be honest, I'm not going to reply to a lot of such comments as I'm not here to prove my credibility (hence why I stated from the start take everything I say as you will) but just wanted to clarify something.
December 13th was an internal launch deadline that was set regardless of the outcome of final testing as they only involved minor bugs. Verizon wanted to have this phone out by then even if it required a patch update post release.
December 8th has been set as the tentative launch date ever since the initial bugs were ironed out and only after the minor bugs were discovered, it was decided that a few days delay should become a possibility in case they couldn't guarantee December 8th due to ongoing testing.
However, the results are now in and they have been deemed acceptable hence the original date of the 8th is now internally official. I am only here to report this info and not to say that this is publicly set.
I really want to point out however to not take anything I say as official. We all know nothing can ever be 100% until you hear it publicly from Verizon (and even then last minute changes are always possible). I am only stating what is the current status.
I really appreciate all the thanks so far and I will update you guys if I hear anything else related to launch and preorders.
May have been Ninja'd
A possible solution would be to take your information to PM with the mods and let them release it as they see fit.
EDIT: NM it was samurai'd

Han, it's me, Han. From the future. It's January on my side, and you've had the Nexus since Dec. 8. It's still an awesome phone.
But please listen to me, very carefully. On December 19 you will be called to New Jersey to visit Uncle you know who. If you decide to go, fine. But under NO circumstances are you to accept BB's invitation to beam with her!
Its good to be prepared. You were probably a good Girl Scout.
Not even close. I didn't follow directions well most of the time. And I apparently didn't play nice with a lot of the girls.
But I am pretty good at the cute 'please buy cookies from me' face

Updates already. awesome!

He doesn't have 4.1.0. That's a major OS revision and it would have been pushed to AOSP/documentation would be updated. Google hasn't said anything about it, no one else has said anything about it, that supposed "screensaver" he posted is just the Clock app (there's a night mode)...
Please, PLEASE don't fall for it. I would hate to see all you guys disappointed.

Except the LTE version, codenamed Toro, isn't in the AOSP yet. It will be upon release, but the only device that is in there now is Maguro, which is the GSM version, and since they don't have 4.1 (yet) you wouldn't see it in the AOSP anyway.
It is very possible he got 4.1

Yep, still have my Dinc too. Did you ever Black it out?
I got married later than most my friends and we are coming up on 20 yrs next year. I think you did it right! It's a lot of work - but it's worth it.
Peace.
Hahaha! I can't believe you remember all of this! yes, I did black it out or tried too. However the black sharpie rubbed off of the speaker grill in like two days. I then realized that red accents weren't so bad after all.
From a design standpoint the Galaxy Nexus is just so far advanced from this Incredible that it is laughable. To each his own but I think Samsung has the best phones and televisions, hands down. I am definitely looking forward to throwing this Incredible in a drawer somewhere as a keeps sake very soon. It's time for a major upgrade!

4.x would be a major OS update, not just a bugfix or a new feature thing. Remember Gingerbread? 2.3.4 was the update that added video chat capability to Google Talk, not 2.4.
4.1 won't just have a "screensaver" (which is just the night clock judging by his picture) and new radios...

Alright, but, how do you know something else isn't in 4.1? You haven't seen it, and just because P3 hasn't reported on it doesn't mean it is not there...
Look, I'm just as suspicious about what P3 says as anyone else is, but he wasn't lying when he said he got 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, and the new radio update. Why would he all of a sudden pull a stunt? IMO, it doesn't warrant you hooting and hollering at everyone here in big fonts telling people not to believe him and that he is lying. Especially when you had no idea that the AOSP build of ICS that is publicly posted is only for the GSM model, but used that as your basis of saying he is lying.
EDIT: And another point, 4.0.2 isn't in AOSP either, because the GSM model didn't get them.
Just calm down dude, you don't have to get this excited/upset over it.

It really frustrates me how people choose to believe P3. He has no proof to back up his claims and he refused to at least get a screenshot (which is SO EASY TO DO on ICS!)...
I wonder why people believe him when he doesn't even have any proof lol?

He lied about getting 4.0.2; that is, he said he had it before it even existed. Make your own judgment from that...
And I'm just trying to prevent people from buying into his obvious trolling. It's disgusting how many people believe him and he has no proof! He doesn't have 4.1.0, I can tell you that right now with almost 100% certainty.

I really dont think you have any room to tell people not to believe what someone else says, after all the times you've gotten peoples hopes up.
