I have to believe that those diligent to this forum will be fine... but the casual consumer that sees a commercial a few days after release, may not see the phone until after Christmas.

Very small. Most will look at this phone and say 'wow, that's way too big'. This phone will just be for enthusiasts.

Default Google update links?

Using the version numbers from screen shots any hope we can find the google update links ala the droid updates?
Example
https://android.clients.google.com/updates/voles/signed-voles-FRG01B-from-ESE81.e48e48ff.zip

and looks like we already have one for the gsm flavor http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_maguro/11bbbccb08d5.signed-yakju-ITL41F-from-ITL41D.11bbbccb.zip

further update, the LTE/VZ flavor is named Toro http://groups.google.com/group/android-building/browse_thread/thread/ab34b1144a96bcd8?pli=1

Why? SGSII is almost as big and like the best selling Android phone ever, in the world. I think that this phone is being seriously underestimated. This was/is VZW's "version" of the SGSII

I know I'm gonna love this phone. Coming from the OG Droid is going to make it more fun.

Over at friends for dinner this evening one of the guests spotted my Droid and was amazed those things were still around. She was amazed how well it has held up. Heh, its the 1 month old insurance replacement but I kept quiet.
She let me whirl her HTC Inspire around.

1st impression was What a Tank! That thing weighs a ton being noticeably heavier then my Droid. And to think the GN is lighter than the Droid, its gonna feel like a feather.

I get the feeling the experience is going to be like getting out of my minivan and into my truck.

I wonder if the curved glass will make screen protectors a little tougher to put on. Someone posted a pic of a case today, I wish I knew where they picked that up from.

They said the same thing about the Evo, and that was back when Android was relatively unknown. That thing seemed to sell pretty well. Android, along with the Samsung Galaxy brand, have much greater recognition now. That coupled with the gradual shift toward larger screens and the vastly more approachable user interface lead me to believe this thing should sell very well. It's hardly just for enthusiasts.

Edit: Not to mention Lte capabilities, which alone will draw attention to it.

Don't see why it would. I bet it's no different other than being much larger

Hey guys I saw a cool screen in this thread of the nexus showing off a guys data usage. It wasn't the my verizon app. Idk if it was a feature of ICS, anyone know what he was using to monitor data usage.

Why don't we wait until they actually release the device before we start worrying about why it isn't showing up in Android development support. Crespo4g is there isn't it? It certainly wasn't when they first added Crespo.

nexus i515 case - Google Search

i just got one from ebay. i don't care about the brand name, tpu is tpu.
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

just make sure you get one that says it fits the i515. some are made for the gsm i9250 only.

its pretty much my daily right now. its fast and smooth

and really cool. Major downsides for me are the lack of sdcard access for some apps like the gallery, and that the sound is scetchy. Otherwise im loving it.

but one thing i hate and i will rant in a hide :-)

honestly before you flame me please use ics and let me know

Been gone a day or so, what's new?

I noticed a countdown clock in the OP, are we that sure of next Thursday?

and really cool. Major downsides for me are the lack of sdcard access for some apps like the gallery, and that the sound is scetchy. Otherwise im loving it.

but one thing i hate and i will rant in a hide :-)

honestly before you flame me please use ics and let me know

just make sure you get one that says it fits the i515. some are made for the gsm i9250 only.

i ordered the black tpu case to hide the vzw logo on the back :-) read good reviews on it too

For those of you buying a case, have you all found one that's REALLY thin? I'm interested in a good looking case, but I don't want to add bulk to an already big phone. I prefer the flexible/silicone kind of covers (but firmer than the real squishy silicone ones). Thoughts on a very thin/unobtrusive case?! Thanks in advance!

Silicone/TPU cases are the thinnest, next to getting a full body skin like Zagg.

I haven't been on here in 2 or 3 hours. When I looked up at the thread title I saw 12/2 and got all excited! Then I went to first page...I wasn't excited anymore

As stated previously, "Toro" isn't out yet. JBQ said in a Google Groups discussion, in which I think you already posted the link to, that they would "probably" be supporting Toro in the AOSP. I'm assuming he was being vague because he cannot really divulge information about an unreleased device just yet, but it makes no sense that they wouldn't be supporting it. They do support the Nexus S 4G, which is a Sprint-only device.
