I wanted to ask him "how could you be waiting on the manufacturer when the hardware is obviously finalized, or you wouldn't have phones being activated?" but I refrained.
The longer this goes, the more I despise Verizon's handling.
Agree verizon really handled this poorly. Hopefully maybe they learn from it for next time.
I agree actually. Death Magnetic has a lot of really good songs on it. I just HATED St Anger, and this new album with Lou Reed is also awful, but not really Metallica.
Been a Metallica fan since their demo tapes in the early 80s (I've still got Jump in the Fire around here somewhere). I liked everything until St. Anger. They should have given up then. To me, Death Magnetic just sounds like leftover tracks from St. Anger that didn't make the cut.

Really? I watched the first couple episodes and thought it was just Supernatural repackaged. My favorite new show this season has been Once Upon A Time.

No way. If it didn't have Nexus in there I would have almost zero desire for it above things like the ReZound. Having the Google experience and updates straight from them is almost the number 1 selling point.
I would take a dual core lte samsung even if it wasnt a nexus. yeah updates don't come right away but the dev's always really support samsung and the bootloader is not locked. I wanted the sgs2 for that simple reason, plus samsung is making great phones lately.

I would love to read a tell all book from a Verizon insider about all the miss managment that goes on, and the G Nex chapter would be the first chapter read. VZW will never learn from this mistake.

Metallica was the first concert I bought my own tickets to.

Do you think there will be a preorder tonight?
My local VZW rep just told me XYZ...
I heard the Nexus had only 16 gigs and will retail for 499
VZW will load bloatware on this device that will make you renew your contract to send text or to dial outside the VZW network
The phone contains an option with its pentile screen that you can only select red green or blue every half hour or go to greyscale mode.
Battery life is 10 minutes, must find a VZW outlet to charge or use the phone

Hhrumbbfttttttt ......and no, that's not what I'm actually thinking. Had zero results this morning. They wouldn't even let me see a demo. Tried my luck this evening and a nice young man said.....and I quote, "perhaps a woman your age would be happier with one of these(pointing to the display of dumb phones) . I.......almost.......hit......him.....with .....my ......purse. I think I might go back at close and follow him home with my brights on. Hahahah.......I AM losing it.
NO WAY!!! This happened in a Best Buy with my mother in law. He tried to talk ME out of recommending a smartphone for her! We left and went to Costcos. How freakin rude?
I've been thinking... I can HALF understand the delays and whatnot... But what I don't get is the NO rep is allowed to show the phone, talk about it or admit that it exists...If they do, they're breaking the rules. That's just weird to me.

The G nex will give you palm shingles
The colors on the screen will change your complexion
Keeping the phone in your pocket will make your thighs hairier
Talking on the phone too long will melt your inner ear.
Just went out to the mall, stopped by a Verizon "premium reseller" on the way back, and got to play with it again. It is nice! I think this second time was better than the first time. Maybe I just needed to know where to touch it to get it going?
Anywho, my excitement is back up to about a 7. I think I can hold out.
Off to dinner with the wife.
Sorry guys, I wish I could stay in and be on here 24/7.
I know I've failed you.

It's because it does not have Droid in the name and we all see how much verizon favors those phones. Look they released the xyboard before the nexus simply because it says droid.

I absolutely love going to Verizon's site now. It is almost like they are saying, "Nah, you can't have the Nexus yet, but you CAN have a 700 dollar tablet, which requires you to sign a 2-year data agreement with us, which isn't much of an upgrade over its predecessor which we were selling for 199 a few days ago, we just hope you'd be too stupid to notice important things like specs and instead concentrate on the fact that it's now a DROID!"
"...but the Xoom 2 only has a very slight bump in specs, is awkwardly shaped and looks like crap, still comes with Honeycomb and won't be quick to get ICS, has a really stupid name, and for 200 dollars less with NO agreement, I can wait 2 more weeks and get a Transformer Prime which is light years above anything you are offering me..."
"...But it's got THAT EYE! And when you boot it up, it says: "Dddroooiddd!" And you can rule the air with LTE!"
Ugh. How the hell does Verizon/Motorola expect these to sell at that price point? It's almost comical to see. I feel REALLY bad for the poor people that get suckered into this tablet.

I really think VZW had all intentions for this phone to be out by now...from the holiday add that popped up black friday at midnight to the 12/9 listed on the equipment guide...no proof to stand on I just think there is a reason and it's not necesarily corp BS...supply issues, bugs in the OS, legal battle over NFC and google wallet...who knows?
but it would defintely make for some good reading!!!

The thing is the og transformer is still a better option IMO. I love the transformer and for the price you can't beat it. Plus asus is really good with updates.

My Nexus Story
Short and sweet version. My CSR is gonna call me the day before the release. He is going to honor my final NE2. And because I will be rooting and ROMing his TBolt that day as well, he is gonna give me another discount to be worked out that day (his words, not my request). With rebates coming in any day now, totaling 80 bucks, plus what could very we'll be another 70 bucks off (NE2 is 50 and say 20 for the hacking), I am looking at a Nexus for 150 before taxes!
I wish I had a release date rumor. I unfortunately do not.
Just the tale of a family man who can finally justify the cost of his toy.
Let's keep the spirit of the season honest and heartfelt y'all.

My dad still has his first car sitting in the garage in near mint condition. It's a 1972 240Z with <80k miles. It's beautiful and runs great. Needs new suspension but that's it.
added to the twitter support #VZWNEXUSFAIL . Grass roots tweet campaigns may not do much, but like a voter in the presidential election, even if I don't count, I still like to exercise my right to feel like I'm doing something.
We need a famous rapper to do a tweet or die campaign, stat. (Southpark reference even though I don't like the show)
BTW, just got off the phone with a rep. Was asking about if I could temporarily activate a flip phone and retain unlimited data..blah blah. Anyway, at the end I asked about our precious, and he blamed it on samsung, saying they were waiting on the manufacturer.
There may be some truth to that... who knows? But perhaps some exec greenlit the launch for 12/9. Then shipping freaked and realized that there was not enough to go around for a high demand phone. So, then they put it back on hold until enough devices could be received by the sellers? Who knows why the do what they do... it looks like a circus from our perspective, but could be that things truly were out of their control (bugs, shortages, shipping times, marketing, etc...).
You'd think that business 101 classes teach you to allow ample time to sell this years hottest device WELL BEFORE Christmas.
Or it could simply be that some idiotic exec thought that the RAZR was going to be the hottest phone (vs the GN) and WAY over committed to units, marketing, etc... And all of this really has been to try to save his/their necks with overstock and profits. I can actually hear the product pitch in the board room... "we are calling it the DROID RAZR... not just one iconic name, but two. Everyone will want want one because it is called the DROID RAZR. Are you getting this... we're calling it a DROID RAZR. How can we not sell millions?! I'm a genius!"

Can't agree more. It's the most stupid name for tablet I ever heard. And what's with that pricing for mediocre spec? Moto/VZW didn't learn anything from flopped Xoom.
