yes but if you know him you can really see him. His hairline (or lack of) glasses, eye brow and eye make him easily identifiable.

P.S. Verizon/ Samsung/ Google don't punish this man. he was just doing what you wouldn't. showcasing your new OS.
Well I never even noticed the reflection until this time around. And now with Verizon watching us and you two not keeping your mouths shut over it, I'm sure he'll be in trouble now.

since when? today? No SD slot, larger battery than expected. oh yeah and this thread is on Verizon/ Samsung/ Google's hit list for exposing their greatest new product. sooo. same old, same old.
Edit: and the official announcement is on October 18th (19th if you happen to live in China). AND the ICS statue is on the lawn at Google's HQ.
Somehow I missed the better battery news. Anyone mind updating me? what did we hear?

SOOOO. moving on.... i'm kind of excited about this hardware acceleration stuff if it turns out to be implemented into ICS like i'm expecting. might make a big difference and is the reason they are changing things so much.

THAnks brother. I must have skipped a page. That's great news then! Maybe it's 2000mah then? is that the concensus?
what did BGR say? 1750? i've read 1850 and 2050 as other possibilities. so obviously i'm hoping for 2050. the way BMX made it sound, this thing has a beast of a battery.

The android app is free. You need to donate in order for the api to work on the server after 30 days or something. I think the smallest donation was like $10 or euros or something. Best money I ever spent. Have access too all my music and podcasts anywhere on my phone, wife's phone, any browser, etc. I like the cache'ing option too, so the music that is on my phone is constantly turning over based on what I've been listening to through the app. I haven't had to change music ever since I set it up.
What a great app!!! Now I can have my 130+gig of music on my phone at all times. A one time fee of $10 isn't bad at all considering google music wont be free forever.

pretty off topic but I made a prediction a while back in my Crackberry days that RIM was going to go into the toilet if they didn't get their act together. This was shortly after the Storm 1 released.
Saying that at CB wasn't the smartest thing to do at that time......I was called some choice names and stupid idiot was one of the nicer ones lol. Turns out my prediction is coming true. I'm changing my name to Cerealostradomus..
Man their stock is tanking and now with this outage they are throwing dirt on top of their coffin.

If they fold, I wonder what phone all the corporate types will switch to? Gotta admit, BB does have a niche for an "all business" phone (slight emphasis added).

is anyone else kind of excited that it has a 5 MP camera? since we all know that MP don't matter, that just means that they're going to put extra attention to the sensor so they can overcome the negativity associated with (gasp) only 5 MP in a world full of 8 MP and people that only care about the MP number? it seems like thats the route that samsung and apple have both taken. use 5 MP cameras but give them top notch sensors so they blow the 8 MP cameras away.

If it is in fact a 5mp camera I really think it will hurt sales. Most people think the mp number is what makes the camera better and they are very hard to convince otherwise.
My bet (since nothing is confirmed) is on it being 8mp minimum.

If memory serves me right it was around that time that the Droid came out then BlackBerry had two outages weeks after each other and i saw the same thing and jumped ship to my Og Droid

It was before the Droid dropped..it was just after the Storm 1 came out and suffered from all the QC issues. That thing was plaqued with issues. People were stuffing business cards under the battery to get the touchscreen "click" to work properly. Dust under the screen etc etc..what a nightmare that was

Exactly what I've been saying as well. Perception trumps truth sometimes and that means sales. Several pages ago, somebody mentioned common sense as a factor for specs. Adding a 5mp cam when there are a plethora of 8's out there just doesn't add up to me.

it doesn't matter to me either way. beyond the reason i said that they might put extra work in the sensor to compensate and make the camera better in the long run.
just checked and the SGS2 has an 8.1 MP camera. so i'm going to have to agree that it will probably be at least 8. i just don't see them backpedaling from any specs from that phone.

My last contribution until we see an announcement:
- My Droid X is very fast with vanilla Android
- The Bionic is screaming fast, even burdened with Blur
- This phone is both vanilla Android and faster even than the Bionic by a sizable margin
- Thus, this phone will be screaming fast. QED.
I'm excited. See you all on the flip side of the announcement.

Yeah I couldn't care less what it is. If I want to take a good picture I use my DSLR, the camera phone only snaps pictures that I really don't care about how they look.

Ugh... I Hated my Storm 1... it was my first and last BB. I liked their push email from my MSN account and that was about it. Constant Battery pulls. Had it for 20 months and was so happy for my DX when it came. I also remember saying that they needed to come out with a better Touch Screen device to compete with Android & Apple otherwise they were eventually going to go under.

Unfortunately I'm not seeing this phone released on AT&T this year either. Unlocked version yes, pretty sure of it. However, what worries me the most is the possibility/probability of a pentile screen. I don't care how much they upped the resolution...if it's pentile it's gonna be noticeable.

well i apparently got stuck with a bad camera in my DX. most say their's are good but mine is garbage. with a 2 year old son, i try to snap a lot of pictures of stupid little things he does. my DX picks up a lot of noise and when i turn the ISO down, it can't get near bright enough. i just can't get good pictures with it unless i'm outside and its well lit. which often isn't the case. so a good camera would be a very welcome addition. i've missed having one since i got the DX (my Incredible had a good cam). also hoping that it snaps fast pictures since they'll be getting written to non removable memory. think i read somewhere that was a reason the iPhone can snap pictures so fast.

For those kinds of pictures I would be using a real camera, not a camera phone

haha i agree. i was going to pick one up but i know that i'll either never remember it or my wife will break it. probably both. having a decent camera on my phone is nice because its always within my reach. and we take him to get his pictures done so much that i wouldn't be blowing any of this up for frames anyway. just little snapshots to keep on my phone or upload to facebook.
