i stil think they will unveal the iphone 5... i mean, we've all seen many new cases for a wider and thinner iPhone with a new design... i doubt that they were all fake...

But that's just me. Has anyone else looked at it in Adobe?
I'm not sure what to make of it. The lower left half is a ragged region of pure black RGB(0,0,0) where virtually all of the rest of the black is slightly off. Maybe a matte finish w/no direct light or flash could do that.

I found it odd that you couldn't make out the background rectangle across where the buttons are. No backlight or other screen bleed, a perfect black there?

In any case, it was edited w/Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 for Macintosh (apparently this morning), which probably doesn't tell us anything.

edit: yeah i know that doesn't really fit into the nexus-prime topic, but at least the nexus priem is expected to be the iPhone's competitor... so it's not totally wrong here
Yah but the funny thing was when they went to show the power of the GPU with live gaming it wouldn't work...they had to move on....lol

I'm taking back my Bionic later today. The Apple guy actually said:

As an android fan I hate to admit it, but Moto really dropped ball on Bionic camera and it's crap compared to iPhone camera. It's giving Apple something to take shot at android. Apple did good job on iPhone4 camera and 4S seems even better. Only Sasmung can match or outdo them in camera department. Hope Pirme's camera is just as good or better.

Well, you gotta admit: it's thin and purdy:

But if it's 3G only, iFolks will be stuck in the technological stone age with it.

EDIT: Son pointed out that the picture in the article appears to be a Macbook Air. Goes to show what I know about Apple products

Knowing 3G iPhone5 won't hold candle next to dual core HD LTE android phones, they probably scrapped 3G iPhone5 and are trying to stuff LTE radio into it for releasing next year.

Seems to me there may have been some editing that occured. Not only basing that on the above pic but the original seems to have an area in the lower left corner of the actual screen itself that has a different shade to it. It's somewhat rounded in shape and has a dark gray hue which is out of place even if there is a shadow IMO.

HOWEVER, even if it was doctored, I'm not saying it's a fake pic of the phone. Maybe they had a reason for wanting to touch up that area alone. I'm just hanging out for now awaiting a second pic. At this point, I still feel good about things.

It's the theoretical max of HSDPA.. not surprising, but definitely not 4G

That's what I've been trying to tell you guys...No iPhone 5 and a huge opportunity for Samsung/Google/Verizon!

I was not impressed and can't imagine even if you were a iPhone zombie you would upgrade for those specs....but I know they will sell a ton to some of them.

That was underwhelming. I would be impressed with the Siri software, but I don't really know who uses voice software out in public or at home even. The camera feature seemed to be the biggest improvement for the new iPhone but a it is really only slightly better than other cameras out there on phone.

This is Google's opportunity to do some damage.

The only time that's useful is driving in a car by yourself. Plus, I think Android has most of the important voice commands covered. "Navigate to [insert local bar here]".

The Nexus Prime (please, please be named the Nexus Prime) just got a lot more attractive to the average consumer.

I'm a Nexus fanboy, and would've bought it no matter what, but now.... now it's looking like it can make a HUGE splash. I'm excited to see what's going to happen on the 11th.

I'll be surprised. If they won't show iPhone 5 today, they will in next few months, it is just a trap for Android world - Android fans are now cellebrating 'fail', Google unveils Nexus Prime, and everybody think it's just the end of Apple succes.

And then they announce iPhone 5 that simply shatters Android world in dust. I'm afraid it is going to happen soon. Apple is not stupid, they now what Google tries to achieve.

Believe me.

I really think Apple actually had "big plans" for an iPhone 5, but once they got wind of the things Samsung/Google are working on they went back to the drawing boards. I'll be that's even why they're calling it 4S because they would be embarrassed to pretend like it was a real upgrade.

With that said, it will sell like gangbusters because iPhone users don't care about it's specs. I don't mean that in a bad way either. It's just that most iPhone users want something simple that works well. They don't care about all the stuff that we care about

They are a different breed from you and I.

I try not to bad mouth Apple, or the iPhone because it's a solid device that works well. It's just not the experience I want in a phone.

Sorry Jungle, I love your crazy rantings, but I disagree. Even if they did wait "a few months", they'd lose a huge market share to Prime in the meantime.

I don't think fanboi's will be getting their iPhone 5 til next summer. Poor idiots.

The iPhone 5, if and when it appears, will be a rockin' device. Like Spittal says, though, it's definitely not my cup of tea...not at all. I don't think that Android or Apple will be killing each other off anytime soon.

It's not like phone improvements are going to stop and wait for Apple after the Nexus Prime. There will be a better phone a month after that, then the next month, and so on. I don't see any way the iPhone5 could be anything more than another upgrade that will keep it current with android.

Is this a thread about Prime speculation or the iPhone5 speculation? My stomach is churning every time I read another pointless comment about a phone that NONE of the real "androiders" will buy. Personally, I don't think it matters if it comes out with a holographic display that shows a real time 3d image of the person you're talking to, I'm getting the prime. With the future of Android, I'd bet there would be a work around for that mod in order to beam that person you're talking to to your house and it'll take snapple a year or so before they could do it. Can we please get back to this awesome new piece of technology changing equipment instead of a slightly upgraded phone please?

Problem is Apple with it's 'improvements' always makes a little revolution. They develop 'own' chip which is always much stronger than any available at this current moment.

Guys, my sister is saying November 3 now.

I know, it doesn't add anything of value, but it seems like talk is heating up over there.

Good to see!

What's the problem, SpeakerBox? We've got a WEEK to kill time! Heck, we have to talk about SOMETHING and since the iFruit 4S just got revealed - and it's a competitor - I see no issue with discussing it against what we know about the Prime. Which, admittedly, isn't much.

Why do you call my posts 'rantings'? Maybe you are right, but I suppose, it would be some good 'click the nose' to Google. They'd get some great market share even it'd get announcement few months later..

Agree....I will also go so far to say that this 4S thing is going to backfire on them BIG TIME. People are not stupid no matter how rabid a fan they are of the platform. Matter of fact the more rabid the fan the bigger the backlash if the product fails to meet expectations.

Prediction: Apple fans revolt and leave the platform for Android in record numbers.

Easy, we're getting announcment in one week. Later, you can just put off some money for it, if you want.

I want the damn Prime!!! Now go find me new pics! lol I guess that one little pic kinda has me ready to pull my hair out for updates. And the fact that I absolutely can't stand the iThing(yes, it's a slick device but I'm all about android) just makes me want to hear more about the Prime. Maybe I should just back away from the computer and take a break? Yeah, that's a good idea. lol See you guys in about 30 minutes.

I don't know about that. I've been looking at some of the iPhone forums just now, and I'm SHOCKED at their attitudes. 9 times out of 10 it's

"Well, I expected something different, but I still can't wait to get the 4S!"

It's appalling.

We have several iPhone nut huggers here in my office. They are buying the 4S but have expressed disappointment. Apple can still part fools from their money even with a joke of an upgrade.

I'm sorry to get official-ly here, but it is against forum policy to insult anyone in any way. If someone is a troll, report them, don't call them out. Continue to do so and the caller outer gets infracted.

(PS: feel free to insult me. I like the attention. )

Believe me.
But until iPhone5 comes out, Prime will steal some of disappointed iFolks. And by the time iPhone5 comes out, there will be SGSIII with monster spec to go against it. So I'm not worried about iPhone5.

Takes me straight back to the EVO vs iPhone 4 cartoon:

"You understand that iPhone is just a brand. They could release a f***ing brick and call it an iPhone."

Looks like they did, too! And suckers will wait in line to pay out good money for crap... I'm in the wrong business...

EDIT: BTW SpeakerBox, I used to live in Opelika, just a stone's throw from you!

So......the 4s gets released Oct 14, legions of zombie followers stand in line to buy it, and a couple of months later they announce the 5. What do you have? Legions of angry zombies.

There's this one guy on an Apple forum that said it best. Something along the lines of

"We all just got bent over and screwed and you smile like someone did you a favor. You can follow the giant Apple off a cliff like stupid lemmings, but I'm out of here. Prime here I come."

Classic.
