I'm going to pick up my copy of Saint's Row 3 today and I'm going to stop by the Verizon store and talk to my guy there. I'll see if I can get anything out of him.

In the world of smartphones, a device release date is not truly confirmed until stock actually begins shipping. This considered, we try to ensure that the information we provide is as accurate as possible by relaying the messages that we receive from manufacturers. This update regarding the availability of the Galaxy Nexus has come directly from Samsung, as have our previous updates and estimated arrival dates.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is still set to begin its launch on the 17th November. However, our first stock here at Clove is now expected on Wednesday 23rd November. This will be part of the first batch of SIM-FREE stock that is available in the UK. We cannot confirm at this stage whether or not other SIM-free retailers will receive their stock on the 23rd or at a later date.
The estimated arrival date of the 23rd November is still of course subject to change. We will keep you updated with any further changes to the situation regarding the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and do our best to ship all orders at the earliest possible opportunity.

+1 so true. This attitude of keeping everyone out of the loop on info is ridiculous.
I think it just goes to show how little VZW cares about the Nexus. They can't bloat the hell out of it and Sammy/Google want complete control. I doubt it has anything to do with the heightened sense of interest.

Am I ever going to read, "BB" and not think Blackberry ever again??? I'm going with no which made me really wonder what the heck was going on and thought you were going to a blackberry store to look at the Rezound

i can personally attest to the success of effective and regular communication. so i totally agree with you guys. i'm looking for a sliver of hope in the midst of my never-ending wishful thinking/dreaming of this phone.
i don't like the lack of communication. but at least i can appreciate the business decision to make sure that it launches smoothly.

You're probably going to be more happy with the Verizon service as compared to the Gnex. Don't get me wrong, the Gnex is worth getting but Verizon service is unmatched.....
You are going to have the best of both worlds.......Lucky

They wouldn't have purposefully passed on the GS2, signed a contract with Google/Samsung (fully knowing what a Nexus device is in the process btw), nor put the phone through testing if they didn't "care" about the Nexus. This has been stated by many, including this thread's own "sources"
In fact, the entire reason there is even an LTE version in existence is likely solely because of Verizon.
Don't get too caught up in the "Verizon doesn't care about the Nexus" speculation and conspiracy theories. If they didn't "care" about it, they wouldn't have agreed to carry it.

I thought the source was also claiming there was a feud between the three parties? I could definitely be wrong, I know it was several hundred pages back where I recalled? reading it.

We haven't heard from the original Source (Steven's source) (AKA Love Tunnel) in some time since they confirmed they hadn't heard a change in the 17th date.
There is a pending PM to this source out from Steven now.

To restate one of CK's comments, and from what I have seen while waiting for the OG Droid, DInc, Bionic and the SGII to drop,
"The closer to the drop, the wilder it gets".
So I hope all the See-Saw, Yo-Yo stuff is just a part of the ride and is a near drop indicator.
I have the same kind of near drop indicator after a couple cups of coffee and a smoke in the morning...fortunately for me, its not the usual disappointment we get from Verizon.

you guys probably already know this. but if not, DL updated their rumors. We still have a chance
Update: Just heard from one of our regulars, and they have been told that the device has been pushed back. They are expecting the next round of testing to be completed by November 19. Not sure exactly what that means for November 21 release date. Update 2: The Android Site found this listing for the Galaxy S II Nexus Prime 4G Android Phone. Clearly just a placeholder, but we might as well report on it all at this point.
Update 3: A reddit user is claiming that the phone will be out this Friday, November 18. I would highly doubt that knowing what our source told us up above about the 19th being the next testing deadline, but hey, another rumor that you should probably know about. I would love for it to happen – no way to tell until we get to Friday though. Update 4: Our buddy @muffnman was on set at the taping of The Verge’s new show which had Matias Duarte on as a guest. According to Matias – during the show – the G-Nex is launching this month (November). He was pressed for a specific date, but would only go as far as saying “November.” I think we would all hope that this man knows what he is talking about as one of the architects of ICS and the experience on this phone.
*Note – Again, we flagged this as one massive rumor for a reason. We have no idea if the phone has been pushed to December or not, but we wanted to pass along some info that was tossed out by 3 or 4 people at or around the same exact time. If we call something a rumor, that means you should look at it as a rumor, not fact. You guys know that we just like to give you as much information as possible.

if you're going to root, Root Explorer and Titanium Backup are must-haves, and probably Terminal Emulator and a cache cleaner (i use Cache Cleaner NG).
beyond rooting, the other "must-haves" for me are:
Touchdown Exchange (cuz the stock email app sucks, imo)
Yahoo Sportacular
Slacker Radio
Pandora
ADW Launcher EX or GO Launcher EX
WeatherBug Elite
Android Pro Widgets

Updated my Incredible to Gingerbread last night and spent several hours playing whack-a-"low memory error". I'd forgotten that was an issue with the Incredible and that gives me even more reason to hold out for the Nexus instead of caving in for a Rezound. I'm sure they've fixed the data partition issues on newer phones, but it still sours me on HTC.

We've heard from a couple different sources that it's verizon's fault for the 'delay' (probably not even the correct term), but Verizon shouldn't affect the Europe launch.
Seems like stock availability problems, more than Big Red testing road blocks. Just saying.

Husker, what "e-mail app sucks"??????
please don't say the stock android one on the Gnex. that was my biggest concern. My phone is for work and I'm coming from all HTC-Sense phones. their Calender and E-mail apps CAN'T be beat. but I'm praying the ICS ones are similar?

Didn't think it would happen, but my DInc got Gingerbread (official update) before the Galaxy Nexus was released. Sigh...
Even if the GNex comes out this week, I think there a lot of day 1 DInc owners (day -1 for me) that are caught in the dilemma of waiting until Dec 28 for the 2 year upgrade discount. If any of you out there managed to coddle Verizon into an early upgrade, please do share how so the rest of us can give it a shot.
I have a day one Incredible .....and they are offering me an early upgrade date of 12/7.

I have a fools hope that after all this is over and NDAs have expired, someone will come forward and explain all the behind-the-scenes BS involved in this phone's launch. I am very curious as to what the real story is.

I could be wrong but I think if you root it solves that problem. (I didn't have it so I can't say that for sure)

Hi everybody! I have been lurking since about post 3,000. I decided to finally join and post because I want to be part of this epic thread! I am a stay at home mom of an adorable 13 month old. I have had an OG Droid since day one. It was my first smart phone and in many ways it changed my life! It was with me when I was in labor and I used it to notify my family and friends of my son's birth. It has since taken thousands of pictures of our son. I will be sad to see it go, but it is now dying a slow death. I starting looking for a new phone that I will love as much and be happy with for 2 years or so. That is how I found this site. I now want the GNEX and I want it yesterday!! I am not one to root my phones (or at least I never have before) but I enjoy have the newest, fun tech toys when we can afford them. I would LOVE this phone before we take a little trip for Thanksgiving with my in-laws.
Thanks everybody for all the great info and entertainment the last month. Hopefully we hear something concrete today!
