I found the Incredible mega-thread to be much more stressful (and often even faster-moving!) than this one. Guess we've learned that vzw does a decent job of keeping things hush until they want it to be known.
I've learned a tip from that experience - sometimes when I was getting so anxious I was blowing off work to f5 a forum, I'd imagine if I did have the phone in my hand, "Now what?". Really, you play for a few minutes and go back to life, rather anti-climatic actually.
Truthfully speaking, the phone is only a material thing. It doesn't matter much in the scheme of things. What I enjoy, in these threads, is the excitement, friendships and fun. When the phones do come out, it's often anti-climactic, unless you get into the whole rooting scene.

If you look at the deviceid field in the links, the Galaxy Nexus has it's own number, which is 5801. The image is of a Droid Charge, but it clearly says Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Every device has a unique 4-digit device ID btw. So looks like they are putting placeholders in on their website!

Yeah that's why Verizon is sooooooo good at keeping release dates under wraps Only the really high ups really know when things are going to happen, everyone else just jumps when they are told to jump.

Not sure, but definitely says All Accessories for: Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Not getting anything when I get on, must have fixed it back quick. Definitely promising though, they hadn't updated anything on their site regarding the GN yet until just now. 17th pre-order isn't looking too out of the question now.

True words. Also, people should set themselves up for disappointment. Not because the GNex won't be awesome, it just won't (can't) be as awesome as it's been built up as.
I think it will be THE flagship phone released this year. But it just can't meet the expectations many here have. Look how many people we had drop out when the offical specs came out. People were looking for 1.8GHz dual core Exynos with non-pentile HD screen and 12MP cam. Didn't happen, and lots of people got bummed (myself included as I was certain it was a 1.5GHz OMAP).

What does not make sense to me is; Verizon's new return policy of 30 days(Nov. 15- Jan. 15). And releasing the Nexus in December.
I think it will cause more problems with the returns for the Nexus in the long run. What are they going to do with returns? <<< They will have to go through a refurb process that will cost them big time.
They are not doing it for the 2 year sub, Because if that was the case what different would it make.
Sales are for the 2 year subs , not the device.

Not me. My incredible has been running Gingerbread since January and I have no interest in going back to Sense or experimenting with Blur. New hardware is nice, but it's all about the software for me so I'll wait as long as I have to for a fresh taste of ICS.
Couldn't agree more...

I don't see the connection. Wouldn't this cause returns of all phones? Not just the GNex.

I think this is more about Verizon releasing three (it better be 3!) top end devices all in the holiday window right before Christmas. People are more likely to buy whoever it might be a phone for Christmas if they know that person can exchange it for either of the other two if one of those are preferable.

Did some shopping in the Kennesaw GA Costco today and of course I stopped and casually asked the Phone kiosk guys about the GN. All they claim to know is they have heard of the phone before but have no knowledge of it other than that.
I handled an activated GSII and realized I would have been a happy camper if it had hit Verizon. It was wild to me how it seemed as if it was not the first time I used the device.
I wait.
HanSolo, they come and they go and I say good riddance, but I'm going to be disappointed not having you in the GN thread opening threads.

the return policy is not "new". they do it every holiday season so that people can buy phones as gifts now, and the recipients will still be able to return/exchange them after christmas if they prefer. it has absolutely nothing to do with the GNex, RAZR, or ReZound.

I have to disagree...I was just as excited for the DInc and I have thoroughly enjoyed and loved this phone. It is with me 24/7 and I use it for music, media, social media, texting, phone calls, etc. A phone is an outlet to everything in my life - so I like to have the latest and greatest.

Yes, basically. My point is; People are saying that Verizon will delay the Nexus so they can get more sales for the Razr and the Rezound.
Which would be stupid with the new return policy.
Everybody get the HTC, etc, then return them.<<< It will cost VZW big time.
So I am not buying into the delay thing because of sales idea.

What you are forgetting is that not everyone is in a Verizon store every week, month, or even every few months. And most people are not on these forums and don't even know about the GNex. So if they don't release it and don't really advertise it then they still cater to us (the hardcore users) and they get their RAZR and Rezound sales.

When the Nexus goes on sale, the llittle man will know. this is all new tech and it will be on the local news channels just like the iPhone..
Delaying the Nexus for sales is a poor excuse period.

Sorry to drag this out, But selling the iPhone4s so close to the release of the Razr and Rezound is killing sales. So why didn't they delay the iPhone on verizon?

I'm surprised people have seemingly glossed right over the Verizon accessory listing: Link
Compatible devices page is unavailable. $20 says they're putting down the GN on the page, or someone wasn't supposed to update this early and they're pulling it ASAP.

25 minute mark for those that want to hear what is said about the Verizon release date. Sometime in November and it is not their phone so he doesn't want to steal Verizon's thunder. No mention of an actual date.
