It's ok. I think a lot of us have tried to make sure we say its sarcasm. When in doubt pm or just ask. I honestly don't believe anyone here is trying to be malicious. I do know for a fact that a lot of us use sarcasm so often that we don't realize it could be misconstrued so don't take it personally.
Sarcasm?.... in this thread?...... NOOOOOO!!!!! I'm glad they haven't released our Nexus yet!!!! (Dripping with sarcasm!!!))

Am I the only one that actually DOESN'T want a pre-order period at all? Some selfish bit of me wants it to be announced as immediately available and to be able to drop whatever I'm doing, head to VZW and get one. No messy pre-order, blah blah hooplah!
Plus, I want to actually see it and hold it before I purchase - though I don't think that will make any difference in my decision.
You are definitely not the only one. I'm right there with you, although for different reasons. A pre-order would foul my plans.
Both the Razr and Rezound came out on amazon wireless and other online retailers the same day it was availible at verizon for almost $100 less but you couldn't pre-order, it just popped up on the sites the day it dropped. I have a feeling the gnex will be the same, and if a pre-order comes out, it would be extremely hard for me to fight my fears of it selling out and be forced to pre-order loosing $200 (ordering one for the wife too)

Go to your local VZ corporate store and try them both for 15 minutes. Buy the one you like best. You can return anytime between your purchase and Jan 15. There are NO wrong options in these 3. Just don't do the Windows phone...
Am I correct in assuming that if I get the Re(nt)zound using a "New Every 2" discount and later exchange it for the Nexus, I'd lose that $30 in addition to the $35 restocking fee?
FWIW, I've played with both phones in-store and to me it's a slam dunk for the Rezound. But it really depends on what you're looking for in a device.

FIRST POST......Thanks for all the knowledge and entertainment that's passed. I want to burn my iPhone 4. Was deciding between Titan (winmo) or one of verizon's big three.. Wanted the gnex until I heard about the 16gb.. That's why I decided against the windows phone. My other concern is missing the double data promotion. If I were picking one that gives you enough of what the nexus brings, which way should I go?
ReZound. There is virtually (by that I mean 99.9% chance against) that the RAZR's bootloader will ever been unlocked, while there is still a decent precedent of "locked" HTC phones being exploited. What that means is that the ReZound will, likely, be the first of the two to unofficially receive ICS thanks to the talented devs around various forums. I will say that with the caveat that the ReZound, as of yet, has not been found to be exploitable.
Truthfully, unless you must, I would not pick until the GNex is confirmed to be only 16GBs. Which, right now, is only speculation on our part with no firm answer.

While the rezound is much quicker, I actually found the colors on the RAZR to be a tad better in a side by side test of random websites. Which just reinforces the need for the nexus.

Depends on what you want. The average user would definitely be happy with either phone. But if you want the latest in Android then the Nexus is worth the wait, IMHO

The average user will be happy with any of the 3. The (and I'm going to be shot for this) only real advantages to the Nexus is timely OS updates and ICS. The hardware is not enough better for an average consumer (read: anyone who hasn't posted more than 10 times on a phone forum) to tell the difference between any of the 3 in 99.9% of cases. It is only the elite of phone nerds (me included obviously) that will be able to discern the differences.

I guess that's kind of my point in this whole mess. I've clearly said- yes, you don't take to his pompousness and arrogance. I get it. I DO. That in no way reflects the quality of his information. THATS the argument. Don't like his attitude. Don't follow. And I'm guessing you don't. That's admirable.
I don't give a crap about Mr Camping! Or sympathize with his followers. And again, these sort of wild generalizations and comparisons have no bearing in this discussion. Self-serving false prophet!? Give me a break and drop the melodrama. You want to use these wild generalization? Then what are we? Who are we in a Harold Camping crusade scenario where all of these "sources" are our Camping?! How does that make you feel? Not so great when the shoe is on the other foot sir, eh?
Since when did the internet become a nice warm fuzzy place when you interacted with complete strangers in a public manner!? To that concern I say deal with it however you like. But deal with it. P3 doesn't hurt my touchy feelies like it does you folks I guess. Sorry, I've got bigger issues of my own to deal with in the real world.
We had a good thing going in here and I feel like tonight I'm very much to blame if theres any down trend in the morale and overall outlook in the thread. So if I offended anyone or pissed ya off I apologize. I feel some of this needed to be said though.

What if VZW drops the "NEXUS" name? Wouldn't be the first time VZW changed the name of a phone at the last minute.
I would expect Google to be careful with the NEXUS name and nail that down in the contract, so I would be surprised to find that Verizon could just rename the device without breaking the contract.

I do think the camera will be noticeably better than what any of the other Android devices has to offer as far as features and speed. I feel like that would be important to even the casual phone user that wants a smartphone.

Well the camera stills look good but video is horrible unless it's a software issue it looks way way way to shaky/wobbly

The speed and lock screen access is what I'm most excited about in the camera. All too many times I have found myself need to whip out my phone to get a picture, and with the Thunderbolt, by the time I take the picture it's been 10 seconds and it's gone. lol

Going to bed, too. If there is an announcement or a pre-release that shows up on VZ, please scream "Haaaaaan!" at the top of your lungs.
I will feel a disturbance in the force, wake up, and take a look.
Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls my destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

I understand the rules of the thread and all but honestly all the football talk and video game talk is really grinding my nerves. Not that I don't like football or video games but seriously it's just a bit much here.
Slightly off topic or jokingly sliding off topic yet remaining in the realm of the topic is fine. Even going off topic for a minute to add a little levity is fine and much appreciated. Having a post by post nfl analysis is just way too much. Please keep it to a minimum I implore you.
Hate to be a buzzkill and I'm not usually that guy but I had to say something. I apologize in advance if I offended anyone.

New customers only... not sure if you're a new customer but if you aren't it'll still cost $200.
I'm switching from AT&T, so yes I will be a new customer. This is also why I'm on a time limit with the Nexus release because I can not afford to pass up the 4gb data plans. If you click more info on the double data from amazon wireless, they actually state the end date of the double data promo is 11/30. Looks like I will be buying something by that date, Nexus or not. Problem is if I wait till the 30th for a nexus that probably won't come, I may miss this 0.01 deal on the Razr/Rezound. Damn you Verizon!!! Can't.... make....a .......... decision. Some one help me before I go insane lol.

Those are really good deals. But I came to a decision several years ago that I will never again compromise to save a "few" bucks. No more sitting in the last row at concerts for example. The only way I don't hold out for this device is if it turns out to be a buggy epic failure. I'll wait til next year if need be.
