I was at my local VZN store earlier today. One of the sales rep's or maybe manager, I don't recall, freaked about what I told him has been rumored. Yes the part about there being no Verizon bloat on this device. He could not believe it and would not believe that VZN would agree to that. He said that their navigator, madden game, and others were too popular not to have on any smartphone they sold. Of course the sales people are the last to know, but I found this humorous. As he just bought the D3 recently I told him that he may very well be sorry and that this is the phone he should have waited for....

Based on the curve of the screen, I would assume that "corner to corner" (not measuring the curved surface) dimension would not be that much smaller. Maybe like 4.5" instead of 4.65".

To whoever (whomever) made that render in the OP, damn you! Now, if the real Prime is any less sexy than that (and the one in the "leaked" video definitely is) I'm going to be disappointed. That thing is hot!

Going back to some original concerns...
A lot of us were wondering how they were going to fit the LTE radio and 2050 mAH battery into the NP. Looking at Steven's post about the NP being a game changer we could be seeing one of two things...
1.) A second gen LTE radio to allow the NP and future devices be thinner and house bigger batteries. (I don't believe this to be the case)
2.) A more efficient battery or charging method such as solar charging. This feature is DEFINTELY a "game changer" and it would allow us to go much longer without plugging in and charging, and would eliminate a key complaint of android phones.
Or it could be something totally different but the second one sure seems like a possibilty since the technology is already out there and developed by Samsung.

Many thanks to "Steven" for helping us keep hope alive but......has anyone ever seen "Steven"?. Remember "Surrogates" where the remote operator is running a robot device? Is Steven real? Or is this just coming from a surrogate operator in Samsung headquarters? Just kidding. Do I get suspended now?

It's nice to finally see the little rectangles change and get some real panache (curved NS notwithstanding).
Here's another to ponder while we wait and wonder when our next tidbit is coming -
Based on the curve of the screen, I would assume that "corner to corner" (not measuring the curved surface) dimension would not be that much smaller. Maybe like 4.5" instead of 4.65".
OK, so couple that with the soft buttons reducing the bezel and this beastie may seem downright svelte!

Do you guys think an exynos 4212 processor would give significantly better actual performance than the OMAP?
Fruit ninja is significantly choppier on my DX than on an iPhone/Pad or even the Galaxy S (on just stock GB, no CM7 or memory management tweaks). But other than that, the phone is still pretty speedy.

Steven is very real. The epic Incredible thread's posting stats were 75% Steven, 25% everyone else.

I know Steven is real, but your questions are incomplete, honestly - nothing personal.
You may wish to ask Is Steven a real person? Yes. Yes, Steven is warm and wonderful and nice all-around, well-developed personality.
However, if you wished to ask, Is Steven human? Umm. OK. See, here's the thing - we don't discuss our AI projects much, but we do know that your favorite mod here, Steven, has a Topic Distortion Field and that it's based on alien technologies.
But I can assure you with certainty that Steven is autonomous. Mostly.
Hope this helps!

Before people begin freaking out I hope they realize this is not final hardware and is no indication of final specs. This isn't really newsworty except for the fact that a prototype has been caught in the wild.

Who:s to say the protype is "no indication" of the final unit. That's exactly what a prototype is supposed to be. But yeah I wouldn't read too much into these specs, doubt they're the final

Without using calculus, we could get a reasonably close value using an opisometer.

Consider the challenge ACCEPTED. I'll write a script to slashdot/ddos this thread. Mods, no need to thank me!

First of all, that is definitively not game changing
How is a 1.2Ghz duel core not game changing while a 1.5Ghz would be? If anyone realistically thinks you will see this next gen Exynos (WHICH ISN'T EVEN IN PRODUCTION YET) then your going to be disappointed.

Something big is coming? What would be big? Remember the teaser video?
There were two items shown to make each other better when combined. So what combinations would be BIG?
*Samsung + 4G? - Already been done.
*Samsung + new OS version? - Already been done with GB when they released the Nexus S. Sure, ICS is new but there will be a new OS every year. As much as I think ICS will be a big improvement... I don't think it is the BIG thing here?
*Nexus Device with ICS + 4G? Sure I guess, but is this a given for this device.
*True HD screen + 4G? This is a possibility but again...not BIG.
So what do I think??? This combination is something that would change the way we use our phones. What is the biggest complaint about Android smartphones? Battery life!
*ICS + New battery technology? Ooohhhh wouldn't that be big? Imagine if there was a solar screen that trickled power back into the battery or just minimized the drain the screen caused. 1000 mAh battery that could run for days...Epic!
I just think there is going to be something more than what we already "know" or have speculated about.
Just my 2 cents
My guess on this is: ICS + VZW 4G LTE
Edit: But that doesn't apply to other carriers, so never mind...I suck at speculating.

Well, I was referring to all the specs....not the 1.2. I don't think I actually said that the processor in my post. When I think of game changer I think of something that isn't already available
Specificallly, the plastic and the 16 internal storage....very underwhelming.

1.5 GHz processor of any kind isn't really game changing. It's just a progression of current technology.

I find all of it credible, w/the single exception of 16GB w/o any microSD. If it didn't have a microSD slot, I'm pretty sure it'd need 32GB internal to be a credible bragging-rights phone.
The 5MP camera? Yes, I could believe that IF it's advertised as having superb lens/sensor and excellent low-light capabilities.
The Following User Says Thank You to BlueBiker For This Useful Post:
The Sammy phones in my personal experience have always done a top-notch job in taking pictures.
For two sensors of the same size, one 5MP and the other 8, the 5 will have less noise and tend to produce clearer images, all other factors being equal.
That said, I think that judging any camera ahead of time based just on the MP spec is a lot like judging a car just based on transmission gear ratios alone.
And for what it's worth - a single frame of a 1080p HDTV is about 2 MP -- so - how many MPs are _really_ needed?

I could very well see Google doing the 16GB internal storage. If they are going to push Google Music and Movies services then they will make the argument you probably don't need anything more then 16GB.

Agreed. My Fascinate and Tbolt had pretty comparable cameras and there was a 3 MP difference between them.
