Thank you very much. For a decade I've been dealing with other people's kids teeth falling out in class, it was so great to see my own child's face. She was elated.... With her jack-o-lantern smile.

EDIT: sorry for so much off topic.

Still planning on swapping Re(nt)zound for Nexus - probably - but it surprises me how many people make blanket statements about Sense lagging and crappy battery life on the Rezound based on older HTC phones. That's not what you're hearing on HTC forums, and it's not my experience. Sense on the Rezound doesn't lag in homescreens or apps, and I've been off the charger for 12 hours and I'm at 73% of my stock battery with light surfing, general messing with settings and music/video.

Mind you, I can't predict what will happen with ICS on this phone, but it's silly to be completely confident of how it will suck based on older phones with older versions of sense and lesser hardware. The Nexus is special, a developer phone, a pure OS experience - that's why I'm leaning towards making the move. But the Rezound is a beautiful phone - thoughtfully designed with practical use in mind and a gorgeous display. You don't have to trash one phone to praise the other.

Very well put Guardian, and I'm glad the phone's working so well for you.

I think poor reputations are hard to overcome. There will be people who refuse to buy Nexus because it's PenTile, and they'd be making a big mistake.

+1

But if you have a rare light sleeper - help them place the tooth so you've a good idea where it is - then slide hand in slowly under pillow. They'll be none the wiser.

The less you worry about waking them up, the more impossible it gets to wake them.

Thankfully for me, my daughter sleeps like her mother, which is ridiculously deep. I've carried her from our bed to hers, downstairs to upstairs...etc without her batting an eye.

But just to be safe, PREPARE!
First, don't have them put it under a pillow. Make up something about it being too risky there and it could get lost. Have it out in plain site. We have a container that was her mother's. Then, have something in your hand or some predetermined "reason" for going in there in case you get caught...you thought you heard the cat locked in there, you wanted to close her window, fan...etc. We are leaving a "note" from the fairy that states that she is allowing us to keep this one tooth just this one time...again just thinking ahead cause we know we are keeping this one as a keep-sake and my daughter is nosey and might find it.

While we are waiting for the clock to strike midnight in the central time zone, I just want to say that even if the Nexus does not come out until Dec. 24th, I am waiting for it. My droid is old and slow but it still works.

Well I've decided that I will buy whatever drops first: SGN or TP.

If TP comes out first, my money's going there and I'll just wait til the Nexus goes on sale for $50 at Costco.

For my own piece of mind, because I keep trying to figure out what you're doing with a Touch Pro.

Wife and I decided we're getting the TP as a family gift for Christmas and the Nexus is coming out of my "spending" money that I've saved up. Thankfully, I don't buy too much throughout the year, so the Nexus is a go... Only good thing about the delay is I've been able to sock a little bit more away.

Well, maybe ten months if you count the extra use for McDonalds runs.

My granddaughter just called me to the TV to see the commercial for "this awesome product" -

I am signing off. Being stunned twice in one day is about twice times too much, muchachas and muchachos.

Han, I don't know you from Adam, but feel like I do a little by following this thread to a fault. I'd hate to see you not get the Nexus on day one. For the simple fact that you've persevered, we've all persevered, you deserve this this thing. Stay strong.

My daughter has a book that tells a story about the tooth fairy and includes a pouch that we convinced her to hang on a hook we installed on her cork board. Otherwise it's a hope and pray you don't get caught.

Is it possible that BB recognized the error in their Weekly Ad and is working on changing it? Or possibly removing the whole Nexus ad entirely

I think we're all missing the point that the flier he picked up was a December buyer's guide, not just a weekly ad. It's likely they are two entirely different things. Meaning, the only way the Nexus would make this week's ad is if it is released this week. This doesn't disqualify his guide though, as BB has until Dec. 31st for that to be true.

That's true about the dates, but it's still curious about the Prime name.

Good point, I just found the BB mobile guide for my area and it said "November Mobile Guide", meaning it could be a monthly thing.

Default Important Info

Hey guys, i been watching this thread for a long time lol, but now i finally feel like sharing this info that i have had since the November 17th release date. I was just really hoping it would release sooner. I work for a premium retailer for verizon, we have had small trainings on this device nothing in depth yet and we have received 0 advertising and accessories. Now this is the important stuff, we have indirect reps who actually work for verizon and they are "In the Know" and they let me know whats coming and when. Both of my reps have stated verizon has planned on releasing this phone in december all along. They do not know the exact date as this has not been set, but the december release was planned, both of them confirmed that it would be EARLY to MID december, so we are very close, im thinking the 8th or the 9th is the day but one of the reps said he heard mid december so could be 15th or 16th. There is no delay it is all strategic marketing. I will let you guys know when i know, its still not in the equipment guide

Just called Verizon to see if the living social deal would work on top of my family plan's employer discount (I'd get $50 off a Razr and $100 off the bionic apparently) but the CSR didn't know there was a deal...anyone on here know?

Yep, it's race to 50K for the few, the proud, the overnight crowd. Only about 11 more pages!

Truthfully I've believed the strategic marketing all along, it makes the most sense to me especially given what P3droid and BMX have stated about the phone not having problems. However, it does hurt to think that it could very well be moved again to late December due to the Droid4's release. Thanks for the input.

iPhone 4 drop test yields results (video) -- Engadget

iPhone 4 dropped from approx. the same height...
BTW, one drop isn't a good indication of the durability of a phone; if it drops at a certain angle it could do a ton more damage than another.

True, and the slightly curved screen, while supposedly to increase screen durability, might make for some weak points, and that drop could have been one of 'em. I plan to hold mine in a kung-fu grip!
