How did you get your tray on the bottom to look like that?
Launcher Pro.
BTW.................when you disable the google search on the home screen, you can not use that real estate any more. Using Launcher Pro takes care of that issue for you.

No and no. I tried Launcher Pro and Beautiful Widgets and they both worked awesome. I regained my lost real state after disabling the home screen google search bar which really upset me but all is well now

I haven't found a wallpaper I like yet. I tend to get something and stick with it a long time. My screens are based off of my OG droid set up! I'll share soon but I'll need to photocopy it a bit because I'm lame and have a picture frame of me and my bf on it and I'd rather not post something so recognizable. But soon!

IF you people want to do this right, follow Solid Orange's example. Otherwise you will have 5,000 posts asking what clock, weather, launcher, battery app etc. and it will get really annoying and confusing.
Just list the crap you are using w/ the screen shot and save everyone the grief of 1,000's of ????????????

Settings > Apps > All > Google Search and disable it, unfortunately you still wont be able to use that screen space, but it will be gone.
Thanks. I had been dying to remove it, but after realizing it was just a blank unusable space, I'd much rather have the Google bar there, lol. Kinda a lose-lose, but I guess it doesn't look too bad. And I've actually used it a lot more than I thought I would.

Haven't really had too much time to customize, but here it is!
NOTE: The crappy reception. It is killing me. My DX had full 3g everywhere in this house, now I am supposed to be pulling 4g seeing as I and RIGHT in the MIDDLE of a 4g area, and I get barely 1 bar of 3g. SOOOOO frustrating. These radios are God awful.
Mine is exactly on par with my Eris, Continuum, and Incredible. Sounds like LTE may be having trouble where you live or your phone may be part of a bad batch, the radios haven't wowed me by any means, but like I said they're on with every other phone I've had.

I'm spotting a theme here, and this may hark back to days of old, but most people have a massive clock on their homepage, why is this? When the phone is off, you can click the power button to see the time, and when it's on, it's there in the top right hand corner.
What's the point in taking up screen estate with a duplicated function, or does everyone have bad eye sight?

because it looks nice, also it's normally a clock/weather combination. If you really wanted to complain about it, you could of said there is always a clock in the top right, you don't have to shut your phone off and then back on to see the clock. It's not in fact just so you can have a huge clock though, it's more of a designer thing. It looks nice, and appeasing to the eyes. You don't like the look, that is obvious, and that is why we all have personal tastes. So go ahead, put a million little unorganized icons on your front page, that would look tacky to me and millions of others, or put a calendar on the front page, which will again look tacky in my opinion. I just feel like a big clock looks right at home on the front page along with the weather included. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way. We aren't all made the same way, you should of learned that early on broski!

Wow, didn't need to be quite so rude, I was just interested as to the reason.
With regard to the weather part, yes that could be quite useful if it gave the weather for the next few days, but it gives the weather where you are at that moment. Personally I'd prefer to use my eyes to look out of the window, it's probably more reliable. But as you say, each to their own.

Wasn't being rude at all, just explaining the reason sir. I mean you could take what you were saying "or does everyone have bad eye sight?" as being a rude comment as well. I personally don't feel attacked on the internet though and was just commenting on what you talked about.
Then you say "Personally I'd prefer to use my eyes to look out of the window, it's probably more reliable." which as well can be taken as a rude comment, but I could care less. I like to see the weather, seeing that I work in a retail store that has no windows. Also, when you click on these weather widgets they have a cool little animation of the weather now and do indeed show you the weather for the next 5 days.
So lets hear what you think would look good. I wont mock you like you mock us.

I don't care what looks good. The main aim of my home screen is to provide me the fastest possible access to my most frequently used apps, I don't care what it looks like.

Really? Okay that makes sense then. Yeah I'm more of the type of person that likes art, shapes, transitions, colors. Just tons of beautiful graphics shoved in my face with bright and vibrant colors haha For me it's easy for me to get to my apps in the app drawer seeing that it's alphabetical I memorize where each one is at pretty fast so i can just fling my finger to it in one swipe. To each his own though.

Keep up the screenshots, please, and keep telling us how you created them, ie which widgets, launchers, etc. You guys are giving the rest of us some great ideas.
This is just one of the big reasons I prefer Android over iPhone: the ability to customize, personalize, and be creative!

DesktopVisualiser, huh? thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to make simple text icons work ... i used to just use/make SimpleText icons and delete the icon description. but was unable to do so with ICS.
Stock launcher
Simple text/DesktopVisualiser for icons
Circle battery widget
Fancy widget weather (muiu skin)
Minimalistic text for "clock"
Every time I try to put a desktop visualizer icon in the stock dock it won't stay. Am I doing something wrong? Can you only use it in conjunction with simple text?? Thanks in advance

All simple text does is create a jpg (or png or whatever) out of what you write, nothing special, just a picture.
Desktop visualiser then lets you make it into a shortcut for whatever you want, apps usually, but i have a few on other screen to direct dial/txt my gf for example.
i think they key is to not make a 1x1 desktop visualiser widget, but rather actually open desktop visualiser from the App tray (not the widget one)
this allows you to create an app shortcut, rather than a 'widget'. i dont think widgets can go into the dock.
