I like this. It makes me want to try a b/w theme with Peter Lik's photo of the flatiron building.

Been lurking since about halfway into the pre-release thread. Finally got the phone settled as far as installing apps and tweaking settings.

Now it's time to customize, starting with the wallpaper, of course!

Has anyone found a way to make the wallpaper go all the way to the bottom so that the software buttons have the wallpaper behind them? :/

I'm sorry, I didn't see your first quote. I'm using the "Vos-SPIL" skin it's made by Vostradamus.

Here's mine at the moment. I was looking through some old pictures and found a fairly decent picture of Mt. Rushmore from a trip I made there once. I figured I would give it a try as a wallpaper and it actually fit pretty well

Sorry about that...

I'm using the Nova Launcher.

The widget is Extended Controls.
The date widget is Advanced Clock.

EDIT: It's the flashlight app.

If you go to beautiful widgets -> super clock skins -> scroll over to featured skins
click to download it and then go back to installed skins to apply it

but probably you were asking where the ICS skin is... I think it only shows up on select clock widgets...or maybe I just totally missed it. If you have a 4x2 widget it should be one of the top featured skins

I see we're neighbors. How is your signal strength? Mine is poor, -93 dBm in the front of the house and upstairs, but anywhere from -106 to -113 dBm in the back of our home where we always hang out. Very disappointing. However, I haven't experienced any dropped calls and have maintained 4G consistently but only 1 bar so I've started using Wi-Fi instead.

Btw, I like your wallpaper.

I will see how it performs at work Monday (in Charlotte). If it's not any better there, I may exchange it for a Rezound. Have either of you from Harrisburg tried the Rezound? I would absolutely love this phone if it weren't for this problem and the battery life. It's horrible, probably due poor signal.

I'm very minimalistic, as you can see.

I might try NOVA launcher to customize my app buttons to a Tron theme (they're on another homescreen right now).

I hope that devs will start working on changing the colors of the software buttons.

Tron blue FTW!

I have similar issues. I'm showing 2 bars, -105dBm at the house right now. Though I've made a few calls and haven't had a drop yet. My OG Droid like to drop calls all the time in my house, so who knows.

I'm taking a trip to the Hickory area today to visit family so I'm anxious to see how it does on the trip. It will be interesting to see how well it does for you uptown as well.

NCWoodworker, LegoDoom is correct, it's the binary clock skin for Beautiful Widgets.

Clock = clockr
Date = Beautiful Widgets "Beautiful Today 2x1"
Batter = Circle Battery
Live Wallpaper = Galaxy Nexus Boot Animation
Text Messages = Handcent
Keyboard = TouchPal (since Swype doesn't work)

Question:
Since there is no memory card on the Galaxy Nexus, i guess i'm going to have to start using the Cloud more... what are the best Apps to use and what do they do for me?
Thank you

If you don't mind me asking how do you get those circles around your icons like Photo, Games, Apps, Google?
Those automatically show up when making a folder.

and you make a "folder" by dragging one shortcut onto another.
You then have the ability to name the folders to reflect what's contained within them.... so my "Games" folder has inside it a number of game shortcuts

Can someone tell me what settings I need to have a transparent background in Simi Clock like in the screenshot above?

Not happy with it yet. Plenty of tinkering to come.

I do not have a screen shot (promised myself I would finish finals before I spent any time playing with my phone), but would it be possible to request (in the OP) that people post the names of everything on their home screen? A lot of us have been here enough that we can recognize most widgets (if not the skins) by sight, but for many people that is not true.

I know they made a requrement like this in the Thunderbolt thread, and it helped everyone and cut down on posts that just as "what is this?".

Thanks,
Nkk

tap on the widget > settings > Background Color > turn all the sliders to Off or all the way left including Alpha.

My home screen is pretty minimal with a pure black background so I can see if there's a practical level of truth to the idea that black pixels eat less power than colored pixels. I understand in principle that it is true, but practically speaking will it make a daily difference? Maybe.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't keep a wallpaper for over a week.
