cool! cuz I'd like to be able to use my credit card, as I don't know how google prepaid card top-ups count towards my rewards points... although I might continue to use GWallet and boycott ISIS just to smite verizon... lol...
now if they would allow GWallet 'officially' for competition, then I'd be cool with that.

Got mine installed a few weeks ago after a wipe, an auto OTA update was completed yesterday, but prepaid is still unavailable. Called google and they will email when it comes available again.
I've never seen a "Secure Element" type of warning. How do I test to make sure my "secure element" is OK and not the cause for my Google Wallet not working?

I just added $20 to my google prepaid card, and I had to verify by enter address/ssn etc... I think this may have been an extra security feature added in a recent update... b/c it still had the credit card info, just wanted to verify my info.
Also now my purchase in the wallet apps says the transaction was made by my credit card used for the topup rather than google prepaid. However, my two $20 top-ups today went through fine.
And when I checked out at whole foods, a signature was required?!?! it took two tries to make the purchase go through, as I tapped the device while my above info was verified, so that transaction seems to not have gone through, but the second time it worked fine (I can't remember if the signature was required on the failed transaction or the good one though). The checker girl was really confused and didn't know what to do... she wanted to see my signature to compare... but nothing to show! ha! I love that... so funny...
I've been loading my Google Wallet since day one in December using a BoA MasterCard w/o any problems; the Google Prepaid doesn't care which card you use to load it with cash... I only wish there were more establishments with the NFC terminals.

It would also help if the places that have the terminals make sure they're working.
I'm also with one of the Isis sponsoring banks, but I'm not sure if I want my card linked directly, instead of now where I use it to load the prepaid Google Wallet card.

Has anyone tried this now that the android market has become google play? I've been trying for the past few minutes, following the directions listed exactly, and no dice. It fails on step 7. When I keep hitting back, it never reprompts me to choose market or browser, or if it does it is from the first time I go to google play, which directs me to the market homescreen, not the google wallet app.
Device(s): Galaxy Nexus BABY!!!
HTC Rezound,
Asus Transformer Pad TF300T
Nexus 7

Additionally, I'm getting a warning that my device is unsupported because I am rooted. This only started happening in the last day or so. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Bump
Where would I look to see if my "Secure Element" is OK? Is it a warning that pops up when you open Google Wallet? Is it a warning that pops up when I reboot my phone? Is it a warning that pops up when I try to use Google Wallet?
If anyone has had this warning please let me know how you found it.

Just got off the phone with both money network and the Google wallet team...issue is still affecting some people, and they are hoping by the end of the week to have a resolution...????? The guy at money network was nicer...and said his wallet on his nexus has been down for a month and his is showing the same discrepancy with OS mysid #s, so he would let me know if he hears anything....and asked if I was a follower of phandroid, since info would probably be there before his boss told him about it....
Had to laugh at that one!!!!

Since the browser trick no longer works where can I find the apk for the market version?
Bump, specifically for this issue.
I tried using GW today after OTA yesterday, said I had to update, got "Carrier Not Supported" in market, came here, saw market trick, market trick doesn't work because it's now Google Play. Help? Please?

I have the .apk if I'm allowed to post it. Not sure if it's Warez and there for not allowed to post it.
Not for me. Still unavailable, but you give me hope! Maybe they're rolling out the fix.
This is what mines doing now:
Droid_Life put out a tweet saying that there have been some people getting it to work, but it appears that the majority haven't been successful so far. Even though I got it to re-authenticate, I haven't tried it at a store yet to see if a transaction will go through. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I just went through the steps and got it to the point of install.
Open market.google.com in your browser, sign out.
Search for Google Wallet
Click the ICON
Click Install
Select Play rather than Browser
It opens in Play, click Install it will install
I just installed HBO Go this way and it's not available for our phone either.

Didn't work. I clicked 'Install' (after clicking the icon) and it didn't give me browser or play, but instead told me to sign in and choose a device. When I selected SGN, it said it wasn't supported for my device. I need the sideload, unless I'm not doing something right.
In a brand new development, my Google Wallet which has worked fine for me since sideloading the app back in January has decided it wants to upgrade. It will not let me into the app otherwise. If I click upgrade it takes me to the Market (I haven't gotten the Play upgrade yet) and I get a note on the screen that "This item isn't available by your carrier". Sounds like Verizon has shut us down.......Now, who's gonna refund the monies I had loaded on the prepaid card?????
By the way I am non rooted stock 4.02

Thanks for the link. But this isn't the recent version. After downloading this and replacing the previous version, it's 1.1 R41v8 where the market is on 1.1 R52v7.

Ditto. That apk gives me the same thing I got originally..."This version of Wallet is no longer supported on your device". Great. Guess I'm done with Wallet. This blows.

OK, that version of Wallet installs just fine and works just fine on my Galaxy Nexus. However, I can also still do the steps to get the Market errr Play to install it as well. Both versions say "Warning this is not supported on this device" but that just means that they are not being held liable to support it on rooted devices.
I was able to add my card back, but I get an error when I try to add more funds. Are other people able to add funds. I am afraid that my issue is because I asked Money Network to refund my money last week

It may be a few days. Mine did that for almost a week I think, and then I was able to add money again. I did call Money Network, not for a refund, but just to check up on it, and the next day I was able to add money again.
Could someone who's Wallet is opening without the "Need Upgrade" screen of death please let me know what Version you are on??? I tried the apk above, and still get the Need Upgrade screen which prevents me from going any further.
I am on "version 1.1-R41v8"
Stock Verizon LTE 4.02
If I am on the right version.......anyone have any idea why I am getting blocked?
It has worked perfectly since side loading the apk back in January and this all started yesterday.
Provisioning is back today, if you had the unavailable problem try readding it now. Mine came back fine with previous balance and I just used it at Wendys with the unsupported device flag no problem also had no issue adding $20 either
I'm still using the side loaded app, prepaid card is working fine. I screwed up when entering my SSN the first time I had to verify, and had to FAX money network proof of Id. Before I did that it wouldn't reload, but since I did I've reloaded it and it works fine.
I should add originally when I called, when they heard I had a GNex they wouldn't help me. After this thread I tried again, and they didn't even ask.

This is what I keep getting from both files you linked to. Clicking update just takes me to the market and gives me the message "this item isn't available by your provider".
I'm looking for the apk from the file that is in the market now.
Edit: Found the new APK!!!

I had the XDA version side loaded and earlier this week wallet said it needed an update. Of course when I wen to the market to update it said that my device wasn't supported. I did not reset Wallet or clear browser history, only logged out of the market in my browser and followed the instructions below and it downloaded the Official Google wallet and all works well.
Rooted my phone over the weekend and just finished installing Wallet via the Market/Play trick. Worked like a charm. I'll have to put some money on my pre-paid card, I'll update when I do. Looks like we're all good though.
I couldn't get the market trick to work, so I went off to XDA and got the latest version .apk.
Sideloaded and it upgraded fine over my existing, and so far no warnings (not that I care about the unsupported device warning). I never had problems adding funds to the pre-paid card, but normally use a citibank mastercard attached to the acct.
I got the "unsupported device" warning when I opened up Google Wallet today (it had been a while since the last time). I originally had the apk from XDA Forums, then used the Market trick to get the official version.
It didn't work when I tried to use it on the paypass at a McDonalds a few minutes ago. I'll have to try it at one I've used it before though to make sure it wasn't just a faulty pay-pass.
