Missing email

The "newest" email in my inbox is dated January 29th. A month and a half worth of emails just went missing tonight. Some of the emails have a date of 12/31/1969 on them. Something with the syncing has gone screwy...

Tried refreshing, rebooting, sending test emails.
Deleted account, recreated it and same thing... Won't sync any emails past 1/29.

Don't really know what else to try. Any ideas?

I have had the same problem on my Galaxy 7.7 tablet. It wiped out old emails and I now only have emails from the last few days. Anyone know what is going on?

this is the email app or the gmail app?

Have you logged into your email through a PC to verify that the emails weren't deleted on the server somehow?

Is the email app set up to retrieve "new messages only".... if so it may not be pulling those emails back as they are 'read'. Also, is it possible you are logged into outlook, or exchange or some other program that has already pulled the new messages before the email app on your phone has a chance to grab them?

Just throwing some thoughts out there.
