Not sure how to say this but it's a joke. The reviewers are just playing along with the joke. There is no way your screen will charge your battery, nor will the light sensor.

From the app description:

Note: Of course this application is not charging your phone. You didn't think so, did you?! The only reason for this app is to collect the mentally challenged trolls - who never read the description this far - complaining about every app. Or you can fool your friends with this nice 'charging feature' if you like.
Sorry.

Its kind of like how the iphone now suddenly has "4g" with a firmware update. This phone just does not have the hardware to support solar charging. Would be awsome if it did.

OMG I love this app. It's worth it just to read the one star reviews by the people who thought it was going to work.

Yeah, I'm thinking that physics class you took isn't workin' out for you.

To be fair, Apple isn't claiming the iPhone has 4G. They're claiming the iPhone is capable of 4G speeds, while on 3G. And in actuality 4G speeds with 3G technology uses much less battery, rather than my gas guzzling Galaxy Nexus. But you're right, Android manufacturers hasn't implemented any solar panels in their designs.

There's a "finger print" unlock app that is similar.

I disagree with that. My wife did the update on her 4S and said, "I have 4G." I said that's impossible, a software update cannot change the radio in your phone. She showed it to me. It read "4G." That is incorrect and misleading to people who would not otherwise know.

They ARE claiming it's 4G.

The 4G emblem on the top of the phone suggests otherwise. Its pretty slick.
