Default How Long Should a Factory Reset Take?

How long should I expect a factory reset to take?

I accepted all the warnings, my phone turned off and turned on again. It's been stuck showing "Google" for the last 15 minutes. I really don't want to take the battery out during a factory reset, so I thought I'd ask to see how long people have found it takes.

I had a quick search and found someone said about 10 minutes.

Edit: I haven't unlocked the bootloader.

It's been an hour now and still nothing. Doesn't sound promising.

I took out the battery, put it back in and turned the phone on. It started up fine, but no factory reset had been done. I tried again and exactly the same thing happened. There's definitely something not right, so I'll try a factory reset using the power button and volume buttons.

Edit: That didn't work either:
Cannot Factory Reset
