Default Screen locks during call

This has occurred few times now. I will select a name from the recent activity list to call back and as soon as I hit call the screen goes blank.
The call proceeds and I will be unable to unlock the screen until the person on the other end hangs up. Once the recipient ends the call I am able to use the power button to reach the unlock screen.
Galaxy Nexus GSM from Play.

Thanks for the feedback. I rebooted and tried a call. Poof screen was off and locked through entirety of the call. Call ended, screen came back up.

Tried another call later, screen stayed on throughout the call.

I have had this issue a few times as well. The screen just goes black and you can't do anything. I am new to the phone and just thought I might have hit something. This has happened with both 4.0.2 and .4. I have also read about this on another forum.

If the issue is that you can't hang up until the other person does, you can go into accessibility under settings and set it so that the power button ends the call. I used to do this on my old Motorola Triumph because I always had that issue.

In my case, the screen is black and you can't go anywhere. When the call ends, you get your screen back.

Right, what Im saying is, is that you can set it under settings so that everytime you make a phone call - you can set it so that the power button ends the phone call. Its a little confusing at first because you're used to turning on the screen with the power button even during a call so you might accidentally hang up but in the end its better if you have problems like these.

I haven't had this occur to me since my last post, about 6 days ago.

It's possible this could of been the result of dialing without explicitly unlocking the phone. After waking the phone I would pull down the active tasks bar from the top rather than perform the unlock. The phone may have had the wake timer expire as I was making the call.

Since my last post I've been explicitly unlocking the phone before use and have not had the issue reoccur.

Just a guess.

Well it started doing it again with a vengeance. I would make a call and the screen would blank out and be unresponsive until the call ended. I would ask the call recipient to hang up and I would dial again without the issue. The subsequent phone call would blank the phone once more.

I called Play support and they said they didn't have any similar issues on record.

We did a factory reset of the phone and if the issue persists for the next step they would contact Samsung for repair. (I've had the phone 3 weeks so apparently that is out of the replacement time frame.)

So far the issue has not reoccurred.

Default Mine was same

When in a call, the display goes beyond the time-out limit and the screen goes off (black). Normally you shake the phone or press the power button and the screen comes back on. But when I had the "Power Button Ends Call" enabled, pressing the power button would also end the call to bring the screen back - shaking the phone to engage the accelerometer did nothing. So now I disable the "Power ends phone call" so can get full phone functionality back without ending the call - for example to look at my calendar while on a phone call.
