Yeah from what i've read the actual source code won't come out until mid-july as well. So for custom Roms we'll have to wait till then. Unless some early leaked builds start dropping which could happen for the GSM variant at least...
VZW would totally win a lot of people back if they would drop a Jelly Bean bomb on everyone mid July. oohhhhhhhh the speculation is about to reach Category 4
I don't expect an ota for a while, but getting a leak to build roms out of would be at least something. We did get that 4.04 leak back in February that a lot of the verizon nexus roms were based off of for a while. So I could see that happening, but never a guarantee.

I bet we see a leak much sooner. And as for that category...me thinks it's more like a 6

A leak would be great. But most of the Roms we're using today are based off of 4.0.4 source code, not the actual 4.0.4 VZW build. That is two different things.

GO BRONCOS AND ROLLLLLLL TIDE!!!
I don't see myself getting too excited over it until I know what Jelly bean brings to the table.
Quite a bit.
For months it was rumored to be a minor incremental update. If what was revealed in the Keynote presentation is 'minor', I hate to see what Key Lime Pie will be when its released.
I like the new notification panel features. I like the offline voice to text. The project butter improvements sound nice. I'm also interested in the USB Audio for docks. Beyond that, unless I am really missing something, I'm not overly excited about the update. Don't get me wrong, I want it, but it isn't anything I can see myself getting upset about not having right away.
This really reminds me of the 2.0 to 2.1 update. I think this is the reason we didn't see a huge number of updates already. Most manufacturers are going to release 4.1 updates pretty soon.

True - that is probably why they didn't call it 5.0 and stuck with 4.1.
Wish they also bring MAP support for the BT as well.

Anybody else notice that every Google Inc app under the sun has a market update today? Maps, books, movies, Earth, street view, YouTube. Coincidence or JB prep?

Yep, in fact many of the updates I saw actually said something to the effect of "updates to support JB".
Yeah soon is a broad term. Kind of exciting though. Seems like this whole thing came out of left field pretty fast. Either that or I just haven't been paying close enough attention lately.

Also if you'd like to test out a ".zip transformed nandroid ported to toro build" of JB check here
we are discussing 4.1, while many of us are still trying to get out of 4.0.4 fog. VZW sent me a new Galaxy Nexus replacement today and the BT connection preformed the same as my current phone, so I sent the replacement to Samsung to see if they can resolve it.

Flashing now. Had all kinda trouble with the download. Stupid ISP and no love on 4G either. One of those nights I guess.
lol. Well when you do get it flashed, and notice all the differences (UI, transitions, new features, new apps, new widgets, new lockscreen, incredible voice recog and features, and all the little touches), I think you'll quite like it. Can you say "speed that you've yet to experience in a phone"
For me, this is kind of what I believe they meant ICS to be. It's like they pushed out ICS a little early before it was finished and this is what it was supposed to look like and how it was supposed to perform.
Maybe not quite revolutionary, but certainly way more than evolutionary. I'd say "cutting edge" and a huge! update. I can't believe anyone said "incremental" (that goes for myself as well)
edit: and a small note. Force cdma to get 3G as 4G is not working since this is a port. Phone works, sms works, it's pretty nice for an alpha alpha build

Wow, the Google voice search is insane. THAT is what I've been hoping for. I tried a search that has failed for me on the stock 4.0.x roms and custom apps and it went right freakin to it on this. SOLD!!!
Call me crazy but the camera is even faster than before if that's possible. This is nuts. Going to be a lot of happy people. VZW...don't jack this up. People would like this before the snow flies.

Oh it is faster. So is the recents soft key. So is everything. Even the live wallpapers run smooth now
Have you long pressed the home soft key?
I'm more excited for this upgrade than I was for this phones release...
The Galaxy Nexus is the third official phone contracted by Google and the first phone to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, a 4.65 inch 720p HD Super AMOLED... Read More
