Default Verizon Galaxy Nexus

Hello everyone I have a quick question,
So i currently have a Nexus S on t-mobile and I love it. (already got jelly bean). However I have a co worker who found a Verizon Galaxy Nexus and is going to give it to me and I want to know if it will work on t-mobile. I know they take sim cards in that phone but im not sure if i need to get it unlockled or if it will even work at all? Any help would be apprecaited.
Thanks

It won't work because Verizon uses CDMA radios, specific to them, not even compatible with Sprint, from my understanding. The SIM card is just for 4G, and doesn't work the same as the ones for GSM phones (T-Mobile or AT&T).

I think the right thing to do is to return the phone to the owner that lost the phone that is what I will do. The phone may have been reported lost/stolen which will give the phone a bad ESN.

Either way u can't use a Verizon phone on T-Mobile like the last poster stated.

+1!

Yeah, if you take it into a Verizon store or authorized retailer, they should be able to return it to its owner.

Cheers and welcome to the AndroidForums!

Please return the device to a Verizon store. I'm sure the owner did not lose it on purpose.

Also, for $349.99 you can purchase a Nexus from the Playstore (unlocked) and it will be compatible with T-Mobile (and AT&T). Considering the device is $650-$700 off contract (Verizon, Sprint), this is a steal and it comes with no carrier bloatware or modifications.
