Default Best Use of Nexus in Car

I got my Nexus recently and love it. I use it with the QCell which lasts me 2 full days with heavy use.

I'm wondering how to best use my Nexus in the car. I'd like to find a car cradle that will fit with the bigger battery. Also is there a way to do this (a car mode?) that I can turn the Nexus into a voice activated device? IE it's sitting in the cradle and I say need directions to X or call Y. I will be getting a bluetooth headset to put in my car.

If anyone has any tips on these or more info on how to most productively use the Nexus in the car, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Can't you do that with Google voice or now or whatever it is? Pretty sure you can launch apps and stuff with it. Tell it to open maps and ask for directions? I haven't messed with it much but I have gotten it to play some tracks through Google music.

If you're running a JB rom just try Google Now. It's what I've been using.

Is there any way to activate Google now with your voice or must you still unlock the phone and bring it up from the bottom of the screen?

Lol good point, I didn't even think of that. I think you have to bring it up but at least its way less than typing everything.

i wanted to use a NFC tag to turn on/off a dashcam app(dailyroad voyager or autoguard) automatically, but can't figure out how. also afraid that using it too often might diminish phone's lifespan, due to constant recording and possible overheating.
