Question about screen
I'm supposed to receive my nexus tomorrow. I'm aware that out doesn't have gorilla glass, but how durable is the screen. I won't be able to purchase a screen protector or case till this weekend. I'll baby it till then. Should I plan on not using it much till then or do you think it'll last till then without scratches etc?

It's pretty tough, I don't think its as tough as GL though. That said, any glass can be scratched if you abuse it(or just get extremely unlucky).
I had a original Droid Incredible that I scratched (it has GL), I have a really light U shaped scratch in my GN which I blame myself for.(I stuck it in a pocket that had sand it it...).
I never run screen protectors because I don't like the way they feel. But I'm not obsessive about scratches or resale value.
i've never used a screen protector. I had no screen protector on skyrocket.. used it for 6 month one tiny scratch.. only was visible at the angle with the screen off.
Now i'm tempting to get one for the Nexus because its brand new.
Yea my Epic (gorilla glass) had its screen demolished after a trip to the beach because my girlfriend decided to put her sandy shoes in her purse with my phone. Kept he thing in mint condition for two years.
As far as the Galaxy Nexus, the screen is "ok" but I've already gotten a very tiny scrape (almost unnoticeable but I can tell it's there, which kills me) from having it in its own pocket in clean pants. Can't possibly tell you how it happened, but I absolutely baby this thing. I'm so pissed. I just bought the damn thing two. I'm going to argue that Sprint repair the scrape or replace it, then get an Otterbox Defender.
I shouldn't be getting scrapes just having the damn thing in a clean pair of pants with nothing else in the pocket.
The Galaxy Nexus is the third official phone contracted by Google and the first phone to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, a 4.65 inch 720p HD Super AMOLED... Read More
