If I bought an Album for the play store and want to make one song my ring tone how would I do that.

Open up the default music app and locate the song you want. Tap on it to make it play. Tap on Menu and then tap on Use As Ringtone.

FYI - That is incorrect. You cannot use Google Play Music as a ringtone without a lot of sidestepping.

That is how you set music as a ringtone. A better way to correct it is to simply say that you cannot use the music you download from Google as a ringtone (without sidestepping).

I don't purchase music from Google Play, so I had no way of knowing that the music is limited in its uses.

Couldn't you download it to the computer as an mp3 and then go from there?

If you have the mp3, use "Ringtone Maker" by Mobile17 in the Play Store. Its free. And you can select where the ringtone begins, how long it is, set it as ringtone or notification or even an alarm.

To "sidestep" is possible but a bit of a pain. There are two options...

1. You can download the song to a PC then transfer it to your phone and set as a ringtone.
2. If you want to avoid the pc step its possible but probably more annoying. You also need root. You have to first pin the song to your device so that its stored locally on the phone. Then you need to navigate to where the music is locally stored.... data/data/com.google.android.music/files/music.... then you need to figure out which file relates to which song. Once you do that you should be able to navigate to it with a 3rd party music player to set it as an ringtone. Its a pain because google renames the song files as numerical file names like 12345.mp3. No one said it was easy....
