I'm thinking of getting the Otterbox Commuter Series. The only thing I'm wondering: I've read on here that the GSM version of the GNex is slightly more slim than the CDMA version.
I'm getting the GSM version, and I want to make sure the Otterbox case will fit my phone tightly. I don't want it to be loose because its designed to fit the thicker, CDMA version of the phone.
my wife uses an otterbox on hers. she's dropped it a couple times with no damage to the phone but it did crack a small piece off the case down near the charging and headphone ports.

they replaced it free of charge under warranty
does she have the GSM or CDMA version of the GNex?
I know Otterbox Cases provide great protection... but I'm just trying to figure out if the case fits the GSM version tightly... cuz I read on these forums that the CDMA version of the phone is slightly thicker.
If the case is designed for the CDMA version of the phone, I don't want to buy it for mine and then have a loose fitting case.
I have used Seidio cases almost exclusively over the past few years between my devices. They aren't overly expensive, and they offer nice all around protection without being overly bulky. I highly recommend their cases.

For anybody thats wondering, The Otterbox Commuter Case fits perfectly on the GSM GNex... I've had mine for a few days now and its a great case. The 2 piece soft/hard style gives it a really sturdy feel.
If you're looking for a case I'd highly recommend it... got mine for just $20 on Amazon.

For the GSM model the Spigen/SGP Neo Hybrid is the best case I've tried, unfortunately it fits so well, the LTE version didn't line up well enough and I ruined it trying to cut it to get it to fit properly. I don't think I've kept any case on any phone longer than a week or so, but if it had fit the VZ version, I may still have it on there. Which for me, is saying something, as I keep trying to find the perfect case, but naked it is.
For the GSM model however, it looks great, offers good protection, and for a dual layer case is thinner, or as thin, as anything I've tried.
I went with the Ringke Slim Metallic on my GSM version. Does not add much bulk, but not much protection from a drop. Protects the battery cover and edges, but that's all I really wanted.
I was using the incipio case from the verizon store. I liked that it was a bit 'sticky' so it would stay on my dash board and in my hands better. I took it off one day to change the screen protector and haven't put it on since. I'm flirting with disaster going 'naked' but the phone feels so good!
I just got the Speck case. Not the cheapest option but very nice. Its some form of rubber but not sticky like silicon so it slides in and out of pocket easy. Seems durable and does not add much bulk at all.
