Default Nexus USB audio

So from reading on head-fi and a couple other forums it seems that with JB 4.1 USB audio is supposed to be supported. The enables audio to be played thru an amp/DAC essentially unprocessed then to be converted by the external DAC. The talk is all about the S3 now, and understandably so since he's the new guy in town, but I want to know if this works or is even possible with the nexus. I don't want to run out and spend money on something I am not sure will work in the first place. I have been looking at a fiio e7.

everything I've seen indicates that it is only currently enabled on the S3. I don't see any reason that it wouldn't work physically on the Nexus once it is enabled - but you'll probably have to wait for someone to build a custom rom that includes it.

Yeah, provided that it uses standard USB and no special pins, I can't see why it wouldn't work on the hardware side of things. It just needs the software.
