Default Lit-up issue (possibly related to Android 4.2)

Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone has the same issue as the one i'm having right now. I noticed after i upgraded my system to 4.2, a lot of things have changed. One of them, which i think could be a bug instead of new functionality is that my screen is now randomly lit up for no particular reasons. By randomly, i mean i didn't do anything to wake it up. It just starts displaying the lock screen, and then dims a couple of seconds later.

On a side note, i find the two boxes on both of the edges of the lock screen dramatically increases the possibility of accidentally unlocking the phone, which is kind of annoying.
