Default Questions about Galaxy Nexus and carrier! Sprint owners please read!

Hey all-

First of all I'm not new to Android as I currently have a Galaxy S3. I'm on contract with Verizon but haven't been pleased. My girlfriend's phone is acting up (only 2 months old and they won't replace it obviously since it's out of warranty) and service to me has been sketchy.

I'm looking at getting an unlimited family plan with Sprint because I use a lot of data and I like the current deal of getting free Galaxy Nexus phones. I'm wondering:

1. How has the Galaxy Nexus been as a phone for you as far as call quality, speed of the phone and updates etc

2. What's your opinion of Sprint's network and are they truly unlimited?

Thanks for your help!!

I've never had any major issues with Sprint service. I've never been able to use enough data for them to say anything to me about it. I get my updates through the AOSP community, so I usually have the most current software within days of source code going up. That said, Sprint had 4.1.1 out on the device within two months of its release, so I'd say they do a half decent job.

Personally i have heard good and bad things about the Sprint network, most notably there being like no 4G...so if you are looking for that then you might want to reconsider.

Also the radios for the GNex aren't the best, and the call quality is pretty average...don't get me wrong i love this phone, but the S3 is definitely better in the call quality and probably battery life area.

With any carrier, network performance is going to depend on location

Sprint is truly unlimited. You won't get throttled after 2gb like most other unlimited plans

If you say service with Verizon has been sketchy, then I can't image sprint is going to be drastically better, and possibly could be worse.
If the device is only 2 months old, you bought it brand new, and haven't voided the warranty, you should have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty that you can claim. Try contacting the customer service of the device's OEM, or possibly try contacting Verizon customer service by phone. Some reps will let you exchange the device for another of the same if it is truly broken for free. If you get one that doesn't, try again because it sometimes just takes the right rep.
