The messaging app in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus running on Android 4.2.1 seems to occasionally create new threads for text messages from those senders with names but no numbers (companies).

My network provider sends texts to me about offers etc and sometimes my phone makes a new thread for it, despite having the older messages from my provider. Although the sender isn't show as a number, but a words, for example; "O2(UK)" I can still see that I already have previous threads from them

It's making my inbox messy with several conversations from the same person, I also don't want to delete any messages for future references.

my ONLY suggestion is to create a contact named "O2 (UK)" or whatever they call themselves

Hmm I don't know if that's much help though, because it already appears as that on my phone? :S
