Default Samsung Nexus SCHi515 Verizon unlocking

Hi all,

I am having a Samsung Nexus SCHi515 with Verizon network( It has a sim slot)
I have taken the phone to India. I thought it could be unlocked and used in some CDMA network( Reliance) here since one of my friend have unlocked LG droid 3,(non-sim model),verizon network. But I have heard from some people that phone with sim slot cannot be unlocked and only the non sim model can be unlocked and registered with the Reliance CDMA network in India.
Is it not possible to unlock the model with sim slot?
Kindly help me out.

Welcome to the forums, albertjoseph!
As far as I know, I don't believe this is possible. The SIM in the VZW Nexus is native to its network and can't be swapped for another network. The Droid 3 has global capabilities while the Gnex doesn't.
I'll move this to the Gnex forum for further info. Best of luck!
