Can't update apps since upgrading to 4.2.2

Since upgrading to 4.2.2, updates to apps will no longer download. I get the msg "Update for xxx could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]). I have read on other forums that the fix for this problem is to close and reopen one's Google account. At the risk of sounding stupid, how do I close and reopen my google account without losing all my Google information such as Gmail etc.?

I think this occurs from doing the Google frameworks clear thing.

I agree. I did, in fact, do the framework clear procedure during my upgrade. Others have stated the same opinion.
