Default Note 10.1 proxy server user id and password

Hi.

I recently got the Note 10.1 partly because I wanted to conveniently surf the net while at the university without having to use a laptop or a small phone. However, I discovered that there seems to be no way to insert my username and password (not the proxy address and port) for the university's proxy server. I'm now kinda regretting having taken the Note instead of a new Ipad.

Are there any convenient ways to be able to insert my username and password without having to root my Note 10.1?

Thanks.
