I can't answer for her but I just got the white Cruzerlite Androidified TPU case for the Note 2 and I'm honestly impressed with the quality of it. It does add some bulk and some weight but I think this case is perfect to use daily. I am very picky with cases and this one satisfies me.
Disclaimer: I did get this case for free, but not for the purpose of review. I got it through a promotion they were doing through Amazon yesterday for free cases to the first 100 people.
The All Fit 3 is colored black and white and one of the arms hinges expands and is deep enough for a extended battery cover.
The All Fit 2 is all black and the place holders expand and also can hold a Note with a outer case.
I haven't decided which to use permanently yet.
Pics and review to follow later.

I'd love to know where Distinctive Styles got there cases from because many of these are on eBay/Amazon for 1/2 the prices.
Also it looks like they have Spigen, and a few other big name sellers like it's their own product.
I don't know if this was posted already, but Diztronic is now selling their cases for the Note 2. I used a Diztronic on my LTE EVO and it was hands down the best case I've ever had. Perfect combination of slimness, protection, grippiness, and looks.
They're also selling on Amazon. I placed an order through Amazon and also got some Tetrax replacement nubs.

I just ordered the official Samsung Protective Cover+ for my Note 2. I want something slim that will work with my Samsung universal multimedia dock so I'm hoping the Samsung case will be thin enough to work with that.
I will probably also order the Spigen Ultra Thin Air case as well sometime after Christmas.

Hey everyone. I got a ton of accessories for my Note 2 for Christmas and I thought this would be an appropriate place to share if anyone was leaning towards anything I received.
I actually bought this for myself awhile back. It was loose at the top and bottom parts of the phone, but after I contacted customer support they were happy to send me a new one free of charge. It fits perfectly now and I have zero complaints with this case.

I haven't used the dock much, but it is has a very nice build quality and a wide array of viewing angles. It has a solid feel to it and held up very well in my test drive around the block. So far it has stuck to my dashboard really well and time will tell if any other problems arise.
Santa was pretty damn nice to me this year, but I fully intend to use all of these accessories as much as possible. If you have any questions on anything that I mentioned, feel free to ask!
Have a happy holiday season fellow note 2 users!

As a longtime cellphone dealer (since 1985) with several locations and service I would caution EVERYONE USING THE USB CONNECTION on ANY cellphone. Why? USB connections are generally flimsy and open to dirt and (yes, believe it or not, we have even seen apple pie in them) other contaminants. They are also very susceptible to vibration and mechanical stresses. We see an enormous number of phones coming in that have defective USB sockets on them, either filled with apple pie and other crud, or even worse (apple pie can be cleaned out with a toothbrush) the connector has been stresses against the circuit board to the extent that it has busted the solder connections, broken or lifted the foils, etc. The latter problems are generally big bucks to repair; in the order of water damage repair. They tend to toss the PC board and replace it with a new one. Best at this point to just get a new phone.... it is often cheaper.
Sorry to be so verbose, but I just want to warn folks against using docking stations or anything that uses the USB port on their phone. I cannot comment on the Note 2 specifically but I can say, in general, I have seen hundreds if not thousands of defective USB ports. Never force a connection... never wiggle the connector/cable.... be gentle and your phone will treat you well.
For what it is worth.

I did a little research to find this info, but the original Galaxy Note dock (and I believe the Galaxy S 2 and possibly GS3 car dock) use a Richter 4 prong mounting set up.
I found this adaptor that should work perfectly with ProClip Vehicle Specific mounts!
So, assuming Samsung creates another vehicle dock, like they did for the original Note, this has pushed the Note 2 as the likely choice for my next upgrade. For those of you that have never seen the original Note Vehicle dock, here's a video that gives a good breakdown:

I dont think it should be a problem for anyone using care to make the connection..... if on the other hand just using the connection causes problems, then how would you recomend charging the phone? Is there a wireless charger that you can recommend?? I havent seen one!
I think if one uses a cable instead of a dock that connects directly there should be no problem unless the user has a cronic problem with up/down orientation. Personally, I always make some sort of mark on the cable connection so there is no mistaking which side is up . I would imagine most of the 1000's of repairs you refer to were caused either because someone is a moron or by youngsters that have not yet had to buy their own phone and try to force the connection with the wrong orientation. Im constantly amazed how stupid some people can be and you only have to force it once to break it!

So I've tried numerous times to figure out what the difference between the Verizon/U.S. Cellular version and the AT&T/T-Mobile/Sprint version of the battery is and nobody is able to tell me.
I call tech support and they make guesses and don't even know what the correct mAh of the battery is. I had one guy arguing with me that NFC was not on the back cover and it was indeed imbedded into the battery on all note 2s. I had another guy stating that the battery is 2400mAh for all note 2s.
I call the accessories department and they seem to have their heads screwed on tight but they don't know the difference either. They tell me tech support would be able to tell me the difference. Seems to me tech support doesn't know their butt from a hole in the ground. Samsung should really crack down on these people who are supposed to have product knowledge.
Either way, the accessories department tells me that even though the Spare battery charging kit came with the AT&T/Sprint/T-Mobile version of the battery, it is listed as a compatible accessory so I shouldn't have to worry about it affecting the Verizon model of the phone at all.

Decided that I didn't want to wait until Samsung gets back in stock, so I used my Best Buy Rewards Certificate and picked up the Smart Dock from Bestbuy.com. Total ended up being 70+, but didn't want to chance it getting sold out there also. They must have recently added it on their website because it definitely hasn't been there before.
Just picked up my Note 2 today with a Speck case. Hard plastic on the outside, rubberized on the top edge and throughout the inside. Nice minimal size
Could you please upload some pictures? This case intrigues me but there are no good pics of it online. I'd also like to hear how well you think it will protect the phone, especially the quality of the soft inside of the case.
The black/Grey one from AT&T? That's the only place I've seen speck cases so far.
Telus, my provider here has the Black/Grey Speck for $35 CDN.

In terms of protection; if the screen is face down there is about 1/16th of an inch clearance from the screen touching a flat surface. The rubberized material on the inside is hard but seems like it would absorb a decent fall (if a fall could be considered decent ) The black back is hard plastic and already has 2 very small scratches; I can see it getting marked up pretty quick on dirty surfaces.

So would you recommend it? Or do you think that it's not thick enough to withstand the fall of getting out of the car and hitting the ground? Sometimes pictures don't do a case justice, but is it matte or is it glossy? It looks glossy from the pictures. More importantly, I just want to know how happy you are with a case in comparison to other cases.

Generally, I dont buy cases but for this phone, I intend on keeping it for 2+ years.
I believe that it would easily survive a fall from hip height. Not going to test it though
The black back is glossy. I really like the fit and look and will keep it unless it starts to accumulate lots of scratches.
Well, just at the mall and looking at a couple of cell case kiosks. Found a semi-hard shell for $20 and bought it. Its made by Cellairis and it is flat black. It also wraps around the front of the screen a bit more. I'll post photos once I'm home. One thing I noticed today is the Speck is a fingerprint magnet.
Should have done this from the beginning but, I thought $50 was too much for a case. I've been through the Speck ($35) and Cellairis ($20) brands for my Note II in 2 days and now I'm completely sold on the Otterbox Commuter. Photos in the link below of all 3; https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0BwrNZhNSJgDMSC0weUQyTE9XelU/edit
I would have been really happy with the Speck but: 1. the black back is extremely sensitive to any scratches and 2 its a fingerprint magnet. The Cellairis is just too thin to be of any protection other than 1 to 2 foot drop by my estimation. The Commuter makes the Note II thicker but, nothing noticable on the sides as compared to the Speck.

I wonder how the Commuter compares in size to the Defender ..... I would want the case to still be usable with my iBolt car dock when it comes (2 weeks!). It says in the link below that it can hold phones up to the size of the GN2 and the Defender case.

this video will show you the differences between No case, Commuter and defender.
The defender is larger and definitely thicker.
I'm curious as to how well the Commuter protects the front of the screen. I just would like to know the thickness of the rubber that protrudes from the screen to protect it in the event of an impact. I know that the Defender is built like a tank but it just seems like overkill (and definitely is thick).
And had anybody found it (Commuter) cheaper than $35 online including shipping? Be careful, a lot of cases say they are for other phones but still come up in Google Shopping results?
I'm curious as to how well the Commuter protects the front of the screen. I just would like to know the thickness of the rubber that protrudes from the screen to protect it in the event of an impact.
By looking I'd estimate the protective lip around the screen is raised 1/8".
Wow 1/8" is pretty slim (3.175 mm). Do you feel its adequate protection for that investment in addition to the screen protector?
Well to be honest the lip could be 1/2" off the front of the phone and its still not guaranteed to protect the screen. I hate when reviews say that the lip protects the phone if dropped face down because it really doesn't protect anything. All the lip protects against it setting your phone face down on the table, not dropping it face down. All it takes is dropping it on anything slightly bigger than the lip and bye bye screen. In a perfect world everything would be level but we don't live in that world so even an uneven surface could cause issues if your phone is dropped face down on it.
Now with that said, the defender and commuter have probably the biggest lip than any other case available for the Note 2, so if you believe a lip will actually protect from face down drops, or if you want ultimate protection setting your phone face down on a table, one of the otterbox cases would be the way to go.
I am usually not picky about cases with phones. The belkin snap case and the book cases are ok but i would stay away. The reason being you can wash your hands 10 times a day and the inside of case will stain no matter what. I am with verizon but went to at&t and bought a case mate with a kickstand. Loving this case it had rubber on the sides for grip and kickstand is great so far. Price was a little much imo 50 bucks but i am happy.

I'd say its the best protection I've seen out of the 3 cases ive tried and all the others I viewed. If I thought I needed more the Defender would be the next best option. The fit couldn't get much better imho.
The Commuter came with a screen protector. I already had another brand from day one. When needed I'll replace it with the Otterbox screen.
Edit: just used a tape to confirm and from the face of the screen to the top of the lip it is 1/8". Also, when looking at the screen the measurement from the edges of the lip to the outside of the case is 3/16".

Instead of worrying about how your phone will fare in the event of a drop why not focus your protection on preventing drops in the first place.. I have a Kevlar corded retractable tether on mine that has saved my phone countless times from drops. Have never once dropped my phone using it. Most of the instances were getting up with the phone in my lap. For women it's that and falling out if their bags when rummaging for something quickly. In both cases if the phone was tethered to the pants or purse it would never hit the ground.

In the 3 years I've had a smartphone I've never dropped any of my phones (Knock on silicon). This is the first time I've owned a top-of-the-line unit and it deserves the protection of a well made case.
Ghost Armour screen protector is fantastic. The fit goes to about 1mm from the edges when fitted correctly. The 'feel' is better than Zagg on my better-halves SIIx. $15. Recommended.
They also had coloured carbon fibre body wraps and claimed it would protect equally to my Otter Commuter; I disagreed. The back is 1 piece but they had 6 pieces for the sides. The is no way it would do anything but save the device from scratches. $35. Not Recommended.

I thought about using some kind of wrap to keep from scratching it. I worry that the chrome (or plastic coated to look like chrome) part could become discolored by the wrap over time. Does anyone have any experience with them long term?
kinda want a skin around the just the outside edges and a hard back that I can attach a yofo to.
I must have the yofo, so the back must contain a suction-cup-able plastic similar to the original battery case, but as I see most cases replace the backing.
For those of you looking for a high quality leather wallet case, I highly recommend the D5 cases made by SLG Design. They are made in Korea and I was only able to find this English site that sells them. The case is really nice quality, beautiful, supple leather, and it fits the phone perfectly. Just a really nice case, and I'm glad I ordered it. Did take about a week and a half to arrive, but I think worth the price and the wait. The shop owner was great to deal with, very good communication via email.

Haven't gotten a chance to use it. The only extra HDMI cable I had laying around was no longer working, so I have to wait until I get another (probably this weekend). Was gonna order from monoprice, but they're based in LA, so there are a few local places I can find it just as cheap. I really don't know if it'll work with the GS3.
I'm definitely planning on fully setting it up and messing around with it this weekend. I'll keep you all posted.
btw, I bought it through Best Buy using some certificates I had, but looks like they're sold out also.

I use mine all of the time. It's awesome! Sometimes there is lag but I'll say that 85% of it can be eliminated by a cache/dalvik/RAM clear + restart.
