Put two fingers on the screen when using the browser and tilting the screen backwards and forwards zooms in or out on the page.

  • 2 note 2s in inside jacket pockets - stab proof vest

  • mirrors are so 80s - sniff some lines off the 5.5 inch screen

  • Disguise - hides most your face from the side while speaking

  • S-Pen can be used as stabbing weapon if you get cornered.

  • eat small meals off it

  • use it to b itch slap iphone users ( i have a 3gs for 1 more day)....

Coolest thing I've seen is the Note 2 with the Moga Mobile Gaming System. The racing game that will be on T-Mobile's Note 2 is optimized to work with it.

Ok so we have had some very funny ones but here is a serious one, some of you may know already..

If you have a lots of apps, did you know that rather than scrolling through them all you can click on apps button on the home screen and then use 2 fingers to pinch the screen together, all of you apps will now be shown on mini home screens :-)

When you're in your emails/contacts/lists and you're near the bottom, double tab the top of your phone and watch the magic happen!

Also, when you're on a contact, whether it's on their message, a log, or their data file, just put the phone to your ear and it'll call them!

The standout feature is Google Voice Search. It was a bit iffy at first but it seems to be getting increasingly accurate and rarely misunderstands me, less than a day after I got the phone.
The different layout to Gallery is improved, with a sidebar preview.
It must have a better aerial or something because whereas with the S3 I couldn't get an internet connection in my favourite pub, now it works all the time.
Oh, and the keyboard now has the numbers at the top of the letters - much more sensible.

I'm trying to visually see that in my head and I can't. Sounds cool though.

I seriously need to remember coming back to this thread and try these things once I get the Note.

Now that is cool and I'd use that for sure...well...maybe. I was going to try to use this phone, without ever having to put it up to my ear for a phone call, but just to try that function would be worth it!...hahaha

Interesting, so the app drawer has homescreen previews, like the top UI. If those can actually be organized, that's pretty cool... But, I'm not likely to use touch wiz.

??? so you will use a custom ROM?
that does not have touchwiz...

how will that affect the SPen?? and all the associated functions and apps? I would think there is some tie between Touchwiz and the SPen.

Nope, I don't root. I use 3rd party launchers and plan on using Nova. You don't need to root to have a different UI skin.

That's why i never pay attention when there's criticism of the OEM UI. If that's the biggest complaint of a review, then I don't immediately rule out that phone unless there are things I don't like with the hardware.

In Gallery you now have the ability to move pictures between folders and to create new folders as you do on your PC, plus write notes on the "back of the photo".

Just made one myself - an easy way to add a photo to a contact without having to take their real-time picture. However, you still need to have their previously taken picture stored somewhere.
1. Open the contact's picture in Gallery
2. Take out the S-pen.
3. Hold down the S-pen button and draw around the area of the picture that you want to use
Note: draw a bigger area than needed and beware of the yellow square around the face!
4. Dump the selected area in Scapbook
5. Go to contacts and select the needed one.
6. Tap on the place for photo, select "S-Note" from the pop-up menu
7. Select Scrapbook and you'll find the selection
8. Using S-Pen, refine your selection with the rectangle tool that appears (here you'll see why you had to select a bigger area)
9. Click "Done"

Sorry, it does not sound easy with so many steps, but once you try it, you'll find out it IS easy.

Yes even I've observed that my Internet connectivity is far far better than it was on my Galaxy SL. As for Keyboard, they've stopped with swype which I feel is better than their new keyboard which too supports swype like continuous input. But yes having the digits at the top is something quite good.

Thanks for pointing that out about the built-in keyboard. I've come from using Swype on my S2 and although I love the predictive text on the Samsung keyboard - it predicts based on previous words, and often guesses your next word too - I'd been missing the slidy-ness of Swype.

If anyone's wondering how to enable sliding, it's under Settings/Language and input/Samsung keyboard (tap the cog icon).

Just curious, a friend has the Galaxy S3 updated to Jellybean but the keyboard doesn't have the figures at the top. Is there a way to enable this or is it a Note 2 specific feature?

Which version of the GNote2 are you doing this on? Either I'm not doing it right or it isn't on the TMoUS version.

Here's an interesting feature on my LTE phone (Rogers Canada). It's not a useful feature, its actually quite annoying.

Turn on blocking mode so that you can mute your phone (mutes everything) during certain hours of the day. I had mine configured to mute everything between the hours of 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

Now, when the blocking mode is not active, the display comes on by itself every minute or so. And the phone is unlocked as well when the display comes on.

It can be cool if you want to see your wallpaper every minute, otherwise its quite annoying.

Anyone else experience this very strange "feature"?

Settings > Motion > is yours on or off?
If you tap motion there are other motion options in there.

Mine is on. But why would it cause that weird behaviour?

But yes having the digits at the top is something quite good.
I have a US T-Mobile branded Note 2, and Swype is the default keyboard. Its significantly improved from the Swype on my old Galaxy Epic. Its super smooth, predictive text is nearly perfect, and the dictionary is really easy to add or delete from.

Maybe its installed at preference of the service provider, on top of the original Jellybean?

In S Note, to put in a subject in the subject box, click the pen(drawing mode) than press and hold on the subject box. the box will get highlighted(you can move it or make it bigger if needed) than click the box again and a cursor will appear in the box.

The weird behavior is called gestures. Samsung wants you to be one with your phone. If you go into the motion setting you can turn it off completely or click on "motion" and turn on/off the exact gestures you'd like to use/not use.

Cool feature? I was in a pub last night standing at the bar and we go onto a complicated question so we decided to Google it. Rob had a small 2 year old phone and Neil had a Galaxy S2 (sorry S2 fans); while they were struggling to get a connection and Rob was squinting to see the screen, I pulled out my Note 2 and it was like the Alien Mothership from Independence Day! Jaws dropped all round

Being in a pub tonight (I seem to spend a lot of time in pubs) and doing a Bluetooth Search only to find the only other name was "Nokia 2730 Classic". Here it is in all its wild hideousness https://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/2567214661011989321?redir_esc=&hl=en-GB&client=ms-android-samsung&v=210020112&q=nokia%202730&noj=1&safe=imag es&rlz=null&aqs=qsb-android.0.41l3.3464j3444j3444j2jj1j1j89&oq=&dbl=1& biw=720&bih=1002&sa=X&ei=M2KdUMubD-XC0QWajYCwCA&ved=0CCMQ8wIwAQ#hsecverview

Turn on Quick Glance so when you phone is lying on a flat surface and asleep wave your hand near the top you will get a brief flash of any call texts and emails the time will display.

Hold down the menu button to quickly access Google now

Draw a sideways V with the button held on the S-Pen will go back so you don't have to hit the haptic back key.

When drawing with the s pen in handwriting-text mode, draw a vertical line to insert a space between words.

There is some method for the space to be automatically added, I just have not figured out what I am doing yet. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. LOL.

Oh wow Derp if you find it PLEASE post it. Everything I've read says draw a line but more times than not my line isn't recognized as a line.
