Sorry to be that guy. Don't fret, just keep an open mind and decide for yourself when they arrive.
Hey guys, MediaDevil for the Note 2 are dry apply...
Never heard of them either, but after looking around a little they don't look too bad.
Yeh. Mediadevil got 1000s of glowing reviews, dry install and slightly cheaper. The only downside seems it's not released yet, and no eta. While sgp is out now, so is it worth the wait. it's up to you

Well, i guess you could possibly use one of the many...gasp... iphones in your household... Lol
LOL!!!!!!!
Wish I had seen this while my son (4S/5) was here watching LAL vs LAC. Once the game went off I took him to his g/f house. He's supposed to be back here tomorrow to return items he walked out of here with. I may have to chloroform him to get one of his phones.
My niece (4S) is across the street sleep at her other aunt's house. I'll grab her phone in the morning not that'll do any good since you can't see where the Ultra Crystal screen protector begins and ends....it's THAT clear.

Interesting. Usually SGP has pretty much had edge to edge protectors, but it looks like they might've cut the SG Note 2 protectors just a little short of the edge. No big deal for me, but I just find that interesting compared to the past experiences I've had.

Yep short all round but cover the screen where it counts, would look better from edge to edge though I must say.

The thing is with them not being edge to edge it must be hit and miss if you get it 100%, mine has no bubbles or dust and is completely level however if you look close it is ever so slightly off centre to the right. Once it touches you are pretty much commited.
But if I take it off and do it again I run risk of it not been as good..
Opinions ?

Media devil is just as good IMO. I'm still waiting to see if SGP makes the Glas for the Note2. Best protector hands downs!!

As you say the 1st try you are committed, it was acceptable but there was an annoying spec of dust each time, then trying to open the SGP again to get at the dust ruined the seal. This is getting expensive lol
Anyone who is curious about clear and matte protectors should note:
Matte protectors:
These are good at anti-fingerprint, anti-glare and sometimes used as a privacy screen filter. The drawback is the colours look washed out, dull and images are not as crisp/clear. They are not as smooth and 'catch' at certain times.
Ultra Clear protectors:
These have glare, are fingerprint/smudge magnet and offer no privacy. They replicate the look and feel of an actual glass screen. There is no compromise to the screen image (colours are vibrant and images clear/crisp). Smooth and works like a naked screen.
IMHO, Ultra Clear protectors are the best for replicating an actual glass screen experience. The user experience is not compromised as with matte protectors. Of course, it'll be dependent on the user. I have used both over the years beginning with my PalmOS devices. I have used Brando, Boxwave, WriteRights, Sony (yeah they made privacy screen filters), etc. From Privacy matte filters to ultra clear.
I think SGP makes quality screen protectors. I have the Glas.t protector on my original Note and an Ultra Crystal protector on my Note 10.1. I have not been disappointed by SGP. And the oleophobic coating does make the screen a little easier to clean.

Which is why I didn't place mine on the edge. Prior to actually sticking it, I put it on the screen to see what it would look like. For me, I basically lined it up with my start point being the center button. That's the only reason I was able to get it on so perfectly in one shot.
Mine starts just a smidgen about the center button and stops just a smidgen below the earpiece grill.

It is because of the curved/waterfall edges, just like on the Galaxy S III. If they don't cut it short then the material will not lay flat and create bubbles/crumple around the edges. SGP learned this the hard way on the pre-ordered S III and had to create a revised product that didn't run as far to the edge. Imagine all the customer service problems it created, and for pretty much the most popular phone of the year. Yikes.
Even the revised product doesn't always lay flat. I did a pretty good install of an Ultra Nano on a Galaxy S III for a co-worker and even it had bubble areas on the edge from the slight curved edge. The bubbles wouldn't rub out, luckily it doesn't bother him and he doesn't care.
As far as the GLAS.t or GLAS.tR (new! rounded and beveled) I have my doubts the GLAS line will be made for the Note 2. If they are made, it is going to take a little while for research and testing - by that time is it even worth it for them to produce? The Galaxy S III had some reported (Amazon reviews) issues with touch sensitivity. I can only imagine how/if it effects the use of the stylus. Possibly will require a revision of some sort?
There is another company called X Gear that made a tempered glass protector for the Galaxy S III and Nexus, someone should check with them to see if they will try their hand at making a Note 2 version.

Heh...another vote for the Spigen Crystal screen protector. Used the GlasT on my Note 1, thinking the Crystal is good enough. Certainly better than the Shieldz, Zagg, etc, that I have tried.
I've got the ultra crystal and since there's 2 in a pack it'll be a while before I can try something else. Next time around I'm gonna go with the Oleopobic unless reviews of it aren't good..

Wow, that's a tad disappointing. Most of my experiences with SGP have been with edge-to-edge screen protectors, but dbpaddler explained why that might not have been able to be accomplished with the Note 2 or the GS3.

I am discovering I do NOT like the SGP ultra clear protectors. I am constantly cleaning the screen. That gets old pretty quick. As a matter of fact, I'm cleaning the screen more than I did w/Out the protector.
Finally had a chance today to put the ultra crystal on and it looks very clear and functions perfectly as I expected with my past experience with these protectors. Used my steamy shower method and managed to avoid any dust and got it on with the first try. Because they make you start at the top with no edge to orient yourself I had to lift once to reset because it was coming in uneven at the bottom home button cutout. Resetting isn't an issue with the steam method since dust isn't a concern. Overall I'm not crazy about seeing the edge of the protector but since I'm getting the seidio surface case tomorrow the edge of the case should mitigate that somewhat. Chances are I'll take it off as soon as I get the defender but for now it should be pretty protected.

I didn't start at the top. I went bottom up placing it on the screen first without peeling just to see where I needed to position it at. Went on perfect in one try.

Oh so you peeled off the backing first and then put it on? I did it like the instructions showed where you peel off a bit from the top tab and position from the top and peel down.

No. I said I placed it on the screen without peeling to see where I needed to start.
No I get that part. Did you peel the backing off from the bottom when you started to adhere?
I've done this numerous time before. The tabs they provide are not always in the most strategic locations (usually generic location for all handsets), so I tend to analyze the install first and then create my own tabs with a piece of scotch tape. It helps you carefully peel the backing without getting it dirty or knicking the material from a finger or fingernail.

Smart! I should have done that with this install. Just as a followup though, I'm ready to rip this thing off! I can't stand my finger catching the edge of the protector when I swipe the screen from the edges. Don't like it one bit. I'll see how it feels when I put the seidio surface case on tomorrow.

The Oloephobic should help in this regard? Correct?

That's what I was told, which is why I opted for that one this time (as supposed to the Ultra Crystal, which I've purchased for a few past devices already).

Actually, my experience was the opposite of going pure glass. And the one thing I found most comforting is that I didn't feel the need to use a small microfiber cloth (e.g. sunglass cloth) to wipe the screen down. I could use kleenex and it would get the job done just as well.
Yes, and anyone else that has tried a screen protector and found it doesn't scratch easy with the s pen.
My protector doesn't get scratched or anything like that. I just don't like mine because I'm constantly cleaning it. Going to give SGP a ringy dingy tomorrow.
Just put on my spigen ultra otics on my note 2 and i love it. It reduced the clarity just ever so slightly but its still very VERY clear. Makes a very quiet high pitched noise when you move your finger along the screen quickly. I like the matte finish personally.
