I wish I could use this (Verizon), but it requires Flash Player, which Adobe is no longer supporting for mobile devices, so I can't seem to get to the site from the phone.
I'm finding several things that I can't seem to do - like I can't write on the back of a picture (the option is not available on my phone).

I tried to format my phone by the phone settings. I pressed the button to start the process, the phone turned off and on having the "Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100" on the screen.
Any ideas how to get my phone to work? The case is that it wont start up completely, it just has the "Samsung Galaxy Note II.." on the screen. I have tried to take the battery off, but it doesnt solve the problem.
By default I find the screen a bit saturated on the Note II. By going to Settings 》Display 》Screen mode you can modify the look to your liking. I set mine to Natural and feel it represents the colours more accurately.

That's the same setting I have on mine.
On a side Note (no pun intended) i am surprised that noone has come up with a way to increase the brightness on the phone beyond what is on the stock device. I still find it a bit hard to read the screen outside in daylight.

Thanks for the link, subscribed. Seems that version 4.1.2 may have the brightness issue fixed, so hopefully the devs will incorporate the settings into their roms.
I have no experience with them. If you try them out, let us know how they are.
Why use a widget? Just create a notification switcher using Widgetsoid. Whatever isn't on the current notification toggle, you can probably add and match the same color scheme as Samsung's.

Because that's what he asked for. Your way would work, both in the notification tray & as a stand-alone, homescreen widget.
I'm back....so I've been watching some videos on YouTube, about the GN2. I have a few questions, and hope that this is an ok place to ask them.
First one, in some of the videos there is an app on the screen called application monitor, but Ican't find it on my device. I had the same app on my Note 10.1 and kind of liked it. I looked in the Playstore, but didn't see it.
My device is running 4.1.1 how do I get 4.1.2?
Last question for now.....on m EVO LTE, there was a soft key that would show all the open apps, and give me the option to swipe it away. Does the GN2 have a similar feature?

You must be watching Lucidmike's videos (some of the best). It's not on mine either. If no one else chimes in, contact him directly.

The only way to get it right now would be to root it. None of the U.S. carriers have released it.

Thank you nlitenme. Yes I have been watching lucidmike's videos....I noticed he was from asia when he began talking about a messaging app caled kakao....I have been trying to find some American made reviews, but he has so many videos pop up, I have a hard time finding relevant videos to American released versions.
Here's another one...I just noticed that my weather display, on the lock screen is showing a temperature from 2 days ago, but the home screen is showing the current and correct weather.....is there a way to reset the app? It seems that the weather should display the same on both screens.

You're welcome. Ya, Lucidmike is in South Korea.
One reason for the lack of American reviews is that the International version was released about a month before, so they had a jump on reviews.

I don't have any experience with that. So again, hopefully someone else will chime in.

I checked the settings, adjusted them to my liking and refreshed it....it refreshed the home screen, but the date is showing 1-11-13 yet and 50 degrees on the lock screen.

Thanks again.
The Application monitor can be found on Samsung apps.
Just switched to a Galaxy Note 2. Always had Motorola phones before and got used to talking caller ID. I don't see any way to enable JUST talking caller ID on the Note 2 (Driving Mode also reads SMS text messages). Does anyone know of a way to enable talking caller ID on this phone without any other text being read? Thanks.

Welcome!
Doing a quick search for "talking caller id" in Google Play came up with a few results, some are free. See if any of them work for you.

Let us know how they work.
Thanks - I did see those apps before I posted (Talking Caller ID and SMS Caller ID). I was hoping that either there's a way to do it natively or maybe someone had some experience with one of those (or other similar) apps.

And thanks for the welcome
There is one built in, I couldn't find it at first.
Go into Settings --> Accessibility --> Talkback --> there's an option called Speak caller ID
Quick Follow Up: I've decided to give "Spoken Caller Name Pro" a shot. So far so good. I'll use it in conjunction with Vlingo's "Safe Reader", which I use while driving to read incoming text messages.

How to get into Safe Mode
OK going to add this here as I did not see it posted and have received a few PM's on how to get into Safe Mode, there is one discussion in her about Safe Mode, but he does not describe the process to get there.

You can start your Samsung Galaxy Note in Safe Mode to boot into Android with a default set of software. This mode is used in the event when an app has been loaded onto the phone that causes it to no longer start or function correctly. Booting in Safe Mode allows you access to start the device properly and remove the app or fix the setting that caused the problem.
1. Power the Galaxy Note off.
2. Press and hold the Power button to turn the device on.
3. Once you see the animation on the screen, continuously tap the Menu button. (Button with 3 lines below the screen)
Once the device loads the Android OS, you should see the words “Safe Mode” appear in the lower-left corner of the home screen. You may have to unlock the screen to see these words. If you don’t see them, turn the Galaxy Note off and try again.
When you are finished with Safe Mode, you can press and hold the Power button, then tap Power off. You can then power on the device as normal.
Announced at IFA 2012, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 follows its predecessor with a focus on creativity. The device improves the experience by adding more S-Pen functionality and new-generation specs, not to mention the slightly larger 5.5-inch display... Read More
