After hitting up my local VZW store near the office, I decided to call up Verizon and pre-order the phone. The rep told me that my order will indeed ship today. In fact, any pre-orders that are put in by 3pm today (EST) will ship out today guaranteed.
So I am officially in the pre-order boat with y'all!
I originally was intending to do what you've just done. But I got weirded out that the date might be pushed back the later I pre-ordered so I decided to just go forth and do it.
Plus, my car battery is dead so I wouldn't have been able to make it to a VZW Store in the event that they came out today anyhow, haha.
So glad that it's going to work out for you! And hell, for all of us. I can't wait to get the e-mail that it's shipped. Eegads!
Just left VZW company store locally. Mgr advised the delivery doesnt arrive until 11/29. I asked about reserving one. He said he would, but its not necessary as they are getting "plenty of them".
Just received an email with a FedEx tracking number!! The bad news, I ordered two phones at two different times, and I got a tracking number for just one of them. The infuriating part is that it's being shipped from West Chester PA, which is 10 minutes away from me, but I still have to wait for FedEx 2 day shipping.
Shipping ticket just received here a short time ago.

I don't live too far from PA. I suspect it could even show up tomorrow and not Thursday as estimated. but if not another 24 hours won't make a difference.

My mom has a VZW prepaid. I was told I could add her line to my family plan and get the GN2 on the new line for $299, then transfer GN2 to my line and still be unlimited data. If so on release day welcome to my family plan mom.

There is officially no way around the unlimited data loss except if you pay full price for the phone.
Some people on XDA were talking about a glitch that let you "keep" it but they've confirmed they lost their grandfathered data. Don't even mess with it, it's not worth it!

Paying full retail is the only way to keep your unlimited data (which I had to do!)

Credit card has been charged, I'm thinking it will ship today because it said the same thing yesterday, maybe they won't send me tracking email until end of day or later should still get on the 29th. That's what tech told me when I did the pre order, that there were no delays in shipping. And feel comfortable knowing you would receive your note on the 29th.
Well I just chatted with an online rep. Said nothing's held up but mine hadn't shipped yet. I guess it's really all up to the FedEx people and how fast it takes. It's all "2-Day Shipping" but for some people it will ship tomorrow and for some take the full 2 days.
Your card only gets charged when it ships. So I'll be watching like a hawk tonight.

I was at BJs in Wesbury, NY this morning and they had 3 VZW Note 2s for sale but nothing yet for display. The Note 2 was at $299 with no earphones/buds (not sure about SD card) and the S3 was $199. We need 2 phones and an IPad. I can save at least $500 going with AT&T thru Amazon $174.99 N2, $59.99 S3, $629 IPAD4 32Gig LTE and no upgrade fee $60 less (saving $125 + $140 +100 +60 + tax) That's this week and I can always return it all and go back to VZW for loyalty discounts which I can't get now. Crazy S3's & Note 2s (AT&T) are back ordered.
The phone is big. I was crazy to think it should have been wider. It felt great though, tapered nicely. It's all screen. I never saw it on but so far I'm impressed. I do want to see the screen quality before I buy it because I was never crazy about the screen on the S3. I loved the screen on the Note 1.

There are non corporate stores already selling them in Santa Ana and Orange. I could have bought one this morning.
My Local VZ Store reports having 2 in stock. They had actually told me they had no information. Then specifically called me back to say they had 2 in stock. I asked if I could come buy one and they told me they couldn't sell them til Thursday. So I'm betting on thursday being the in store date and will be waiting on thursday morning when my store opens.

Just to calm some nerves I thought I'd post. I'm a VZW employee who also pre-ordered the Note 2. When I check my order status through the website it say's "Your order is currently being processed......" which I'm sure a lot of you also see. HOWEVER, when I check the internal order system with my pre-order confirmation it shows me it's shipped today. It seems that the orders status system just hasn't caught up with the shipments. So you can rest assured that even if it says processing as long as you pre-ordered it will ship today. I did the pre-order yesterday and its shipped. You just may not get your shipping confirmation until later tonight. I agree that it wasn't executed as well as pre-orders in the past. Usually those that pre-order get the phones before they are available in the retail outlets. Thats what makes it worth pre-ordering. This time however it seems they will arrive in stores on the 29th which is the day we'll receive our pre-orders. So this time the only benefit on pre-ordering is ensuring you get one and not having to go to a store. The downside is you could go to the store at 9am on the 29th and get it quicker than FEDEX will probably get to you.
PS - For the person that asked about keeping the Unlimited Data Plan. There are no 4G unlimited plans. Regardless of whether or not you purchase at Full Retail you would have to go a 4G data plan of which there are 3 for Nationwide Plans and various choices for Share Everything.

Woohoo after a long day of being a vampire I come home to check my email and see an email with an official shipment date and tracking number. Mines is coming from Memphis sooo stoked cant wait to have my new baby!!!!
PS - For the person that asked about keeping the Unlimited Data Plan. There are no 4G unlimited plans. Regardless of whether or not you purchase at Full Retail you would have to go a 4G data plan of which there are 3 for Nationwide Plans and various choices for Share Everything.
As a correction to this, you CAN keep your Unlimited Data Plan and have unlimited 4G if you have an existing (grandfathered) unlimited data plan on the line for which you have ordered the GN2 for. The catch is that you are NOT allowed to upgrade to the GN2 and still keep your unlimited data plan, rather you have to purchase the device at the month-to-month price which equates to full retail. You can transfer your upgrade to another line which can use it, however if they are upgrading to a smartphone or are on a non-unlimited plan as it is, they will have to re-up with one of VZW's Share Everything plans for 2 years, minimum of 2GB data package.
This has been confirmed numerous times by Verizon representatives. I have it both in writing and on a recorded call as well.
Likely they will be IN store on Thursday. That's how it happened with my Galaxy Nexus, the Droid X and the Thunderbolt. What's so weird is there are no test models in stores prior to the release...you'd think they could get one out there a week or so in advance.
It was like this for most Sprint stores. Nothing on display; not even on launch day.

My original pre-order erred out in the pre-order system yesterday, so an Internet Sales Manager had to cancel my original order, and put in a new pre-order. Then he moved my pre-order up in line to be shipped out in the first batch of shipments since that's when it was originally supposed to ship.

When I look at my plan, it says "Unlimited Data". There is no "Unlimited only on 3G, but you only get so much data on 4G." Data is data whether transmitted via 3G or 4G. And my data is unlimited according to my plan.
And, this purchase of the Note II is still confirmed by the Internet Sales Manager that I'm continuing to keep my unlimited data. That means unlimited 3G and unlimited 4G.
As long as I keep purchasing phones at full price, I will continue to keep my unlimited data until VZW does away with unlimited for good, which right now is limited to those that have been grandfathered.
Hopefully, this inaccuracy didn't make it to any customers who inadvertently and subsequently lost their unlimited data plans forever.

For what it's worth, I'm headed to a Verizon authorized dealer to pick up one of three GN2's that they have. I called three times and they told mettle same thing, that they received three and they can be sold today. I will let everyone know if I'm able to get it.
