I ordered this -
Couldnt wait for an Otterbox Defender (which are still not due to ship for a few more weeks)

I'll use the SPIGen Screen protector and this case with my Note 2

That's the reason I bought the seidio surface. I'm still buying the defender whenever otterbox chooses to release them but this one will get me used to wearing a small laptop on my belt

Seen the videos of surface on the note? Doesn't add much at all to the size of phone. Even the active case doesn't add much. Lots better than the otters

Just waiting for more colors than black to come out

Yes - I agree - my hunch - the Seideo Active Case appears to a better choice if you want to place the Note 2 in the Samsung SmartDock - may not need to remove the bulky case is my hunch, since it appears thinner than the OtterBox Defender in the Micro USB slot region. (I'll report back)

Seidio Active Case in the Holster

And tilt Stand

Seidio Active Case No Holster

While the "too late to the party" Otterbox Defender seems to be just a tad too thick for docking.

My thoughts are the Speidio Active case + SPIGEN Active Crystal Screen protectors
SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Screen Protector Clear Steinheil [Ultra Crystal]

Got my Reiko leather belt case from Amazon. Paid less than $5 with shipping! Quality seems o.k. for now. The family says it doesn't look to bad or that much bigger. Here are pictures of the Note 2 size case, my Bionic case, and then the Note 2 case turned more under the arm. (Less than 3 weeks until I get my phone from Verizon...)

Kind of hard to get a good look of the Note 2 case hidden under your arm.

Ohhhhh that's what you were doing with it. I'm on my phone and can't tell but from the pictures you posted last night, was the last one the Note? I don't know anyone who wears their case that far back to the side so I was hoping to see what it looked like more to the front.

Well I finally joined the belt club! Just got the seidio surface case and holster this morning (thank you FedEx) and immediately put it on. I wrote a quick review in the master accessory list but I will say it carries well on the belt. The case is very thin and keeps the phone looking and feeling sleek. The holster keeps the phone very secure and holds it close to the body. Horizontally the phone sits flat and isn't as obvious as I imagined it would be. Today I'll be giving it the full field test and will update if I find anything negative but so far I'm happy.

Just ordered the Surface combo. I'm still a little skeptical about wearing it on my belt/side, but if I end up not liking that, the case itself still looks great and from Seido's reputation, I'm sure it will do a great job protecting the phone.

It will trust me. I've been wearing mine since this morning and its awesome so far. Combine it with a sgp screen protector and you're all set.

Have had the Seidio Surface case for a few days now with the holster.

At first I though the holster was waaaay to big on the belt, but after a bit of time with it, it seems alright.

Certainly, the holster is very secure. I have no fear of the phone or the holster slipping off my belt. The quality of this case and holster is fantastic. It should be for the $60 I paid for it.

I know first hand how this feels like. I wasn't the victim, just a bystander who saw a snatch and grab, and before I can even process what was happen, I lost sight of the thief already. The victim took longer to process the information that her necklace has just been ripped off her neck. This happened in a very crowded street and there's nothing you can really do but look stupid for a while.

^^^ Good Point Raised ^^^^

Those of you with the Seidio case and belt...

How easy/difficult would it be for someone to snatch it in a crowd?

My estimation is that it would not be very easy, but not impossible. The holster has a good grip on the belt, but I would think a forceful rip would remove it very quickly.

Who wears valuables out in the open in a crowded area? I don't even like my wallet in my back pocket in those situations.

Seems a bit silly to wear any phone on your hip in a crowded area unless it is a belt loop rather than a clip. And if the case is actually a pouch that the phone sits in.

I've used Piel Frama cases in the past and just ordered one for my yet to be purchased Verizon Note 2.
These cases are expensive, but from my experiences, worth the price. High quality leather and a top notch belt clip allowing for vertical or horizontal use.

I don't really understand carrying your phone on your belt. I would never carry my wallet in my belt for someone to grab and my phone had way more personal info and is worth more than my wallet. I just feel way more secure keeping it in my pocket.

Guess that's just my prerogative.

Well, I don't have to keep taking my wallet out of my front pocket, while I'm sitting, 20 times a day.... That is the reason for the phone on the belt. Also, nobody is stealing my phone where I live.

Maybe where you live but not all of us got it like that. For the hip I'd much prefer a pouch that's worn thru the belt; not clipped on it.

So I've decided on the Seidio combo holster case, but can't decide between the "Active" or " Surface" model.

I have Verizon's insurance which says it protects against dropps, and I've never destroyed a phone yet....so which one do you guy's think I should get?

If you're looking for slim then it's the surface. Max protection its the active. I chose the surface and I'm very happy with it. I wear it on my belt every day with no issues.

A pistol will serve you no good if the thief is out of sight before you can process the information, and I'd rather have a full size 1911 with a SOB holster covering my back.
I wear my clothing untucked anyway. And I don't think anyone would think I'm a good victim for a snatch and grab anyways. =)

I think I'll go with Seidio's active case. Anyone knows where I can see the color choices in person?

I used to wear my phones in holsters from the Treo 650 to my Evo. I always thought it would be dangerous to the phone to carry around in the front pocket. 10 months into my Evo ownership, the clip on my holster broke. I didn't want to get a new one since I was going to upgrade soon, so I carried it in my front pocket. I've haven't used a holster since. In retrospect, I've actually had more mishaps requiring TEP replacements using a belt holster than my pants pockets. In fact, I've had zero mishaps from pocketing my phone.

Default Nutshell

I am waiting the arrival of my VZ Note2 but I have carried my DroidX in a Nutshell on my belt for 2 years and it works great. Probably even safe in Philly they will think it is a 1911 holster. It is heavy cowhide leather and truly "tuff-as-nuts" per their claim. Hand made as ordered in New Zealand.

You can opt for the 4-way belt loop on it and carry it on either side of you at any one of 3 angles. They fit the phone very tight when new and take a little time to break in.

Not Cheap though with shipping they run about $100 but I have one ordered for the new Note when it arrives.

I have the Seidio ACTIVE Combo with Metal Kickstand - Black for my Verizon Note 2 and love it!!!

I had the Otterbox for my last phone Gnex and it was way to big. I can just imagine how it would be for the Note 2.

Don't bother with the seidio cases. The magnets interfere with the pen.

Unfortunately some doctors have to. Nurse just paged me at 9:50pm for a medicine order. I get paged all hours of the day and night. Every day of the week, and every week of the year (unless I'm out of town on vacation, which hardly happens). The greatest day in a surgeon's life is the day he retires, and can throw that stupid thing off a bridge. I just have to survive about 18 more years....

Going thru 2 phones and multiple threads on xda and other forums. It happens when you're right over the magnet. Such a nice case despite that fact.

I have the Seidio surface and really like it but find it less grippy than I'd like. I'm thinking of getting the Active.

Is the Active more grippy?

I purchased a Seidio ACTIVE case for my S3 and I loved the case BUT IMO there is one major flaw with it. The rubber they use that wraps the phone is a lint/dirt magnet.

It was impossible to put it in your pants pocket or sweatshirt pocket without it being pulled out with lint stuck all over it. If you had the slightest bit of dirt on your hands from being outside it quickly smudges onto the rubber.

I might be being too anal but I like my stuff to look new but I constantly felt like I was rubbing lint or smudges off of it.

I am a BIG fan of Seidio products and I want to LOVE the active case (it is a very cool case) but that rubber issue is keeping me from buying it for my Note 2.

Just my 2 cents...

I have an Ionic protective case for my note 2, but I need a pouch that can hold the phone with the case on. I have a pouch right now that stands no chance to hold it with the ionic on it. I work at a cemetery so dirt gets in my pockets all the time while working so I like pouches because they keep my phone clean. Anyone know of any pouches with the belt loops and a clip that are big enough to solve my problem?

Get the surface. It's a hard shell. Perfect for pocket use.

I wore it on a belt clip for a few days, then the belt clip broke and the phone fell three feet to the asphalt. Fortunately, the case is very good and protected my phone completely. It's just a lot of leverage against the connection at the belt clip. I think any belt clip could suffer this fate eventually. I won't do it again. Into the pocket my phone goes.

What belt clip were you using? I can't believe it would be a name brand type like Seidio or Otterbox as those belt clips are very strong and sturdy. I have used Seidio for years and have never had an issue with their belt clip.
