Whats the best complete case to protect the phone?
I would think otterbox cases would be the ones to go for. They are working on the note 2 case so it shouldn't be long now. For looks, the samsung flip cover looks the business but there is no protection, it only shields the screen.

I was going to ask that so does this version not protect the corners at all then?
what about the complete sleeve type flexible ones, anyone got a good version of them?
Basically the flip cover is made up of a back, which is identical to the stock back on the note 2, joined to a stylish front which closes like a book. As you might expect this is mainly for looks more than protection, but it really does look cool in this case.
I am looking for a hard case/ small digital camera case for work (dusty environment) but have yet to find one that fits nicely.
You can get them cheaper than your link btw.

The official one although looking good does not look like it protects the edges of the phone it is was dropped.
This ROCK one does though, have you considered that?

How does the back connect to the phone on the offical case please?
It only really protects the screen as I said before. It really does look like it was made in tandem with this phone
and it fits to the back like your existing back cover does, you remove yours and the cover fits in its place.
For my work only a full cover with maybe a zip will do, so it's looking more like a small digi camera case if I can find one at the right dimensions.
The cover in your link does look good although not yet released. There are some nice looking cases out there for this phone however as it's so new its going to take time for them to be released.

The nearest I have come so far is this case I tried when I was in Currys the other day http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004BQTTE2?in=3&is=300
It fits in nicely but looks massive in it lol, but its around £25 in Currys.

sorry link does not work, what should i search for on amazon to find it?
I'm waiting for the otterbox defender but I'm sure seidio will have a nice selection of cases very soon. Those guys always come out with cases super fast.

That Rock case offers no more protection than the original Samsung. If you'll notice there's quite a bit of the bezel still exposed. You drop this puppy and all bets are off--it will get damaged.
As much as I like Samsung's for style, I cant wait to get it off my phone. I feel like a vulnerable victim every time I carry my phone--fear of dropping it.
I'm waiting for this one to arrive but I didn't order it in time for it to be here before I got the note. According to the Amazon listing, this case is made by Samsung but I don't see it anywhere on Samsung's site. For the price though, I cant beat that.

Is one side not protected with the fold of the case? I had a look at one in carphone warehouse today but they would not take it out of the box so I do not know what the material feels like.
Is it the corners of the handset which are exposed with it?
that looks quite a good case protection wise, are you getting one?
I just looked at that one. The inside pics of it don't offer any security to keep phone in place when you open it open. I see that you need to be holding it carefully so the phone doesn't fall out when you open it.

it's gorgeous, but it looks like it has a magnetic closure

It looks like it offers a little bit more protection than the flip one I have. Once I get it I'll take some pics. What I like about it is the closure. The flip case doesn't have one.
Lol did you post this from your phone also?
The lowepro media 30 is not a phone case thats for sure but try finding a case for the Note 2 that will preferably zip closed and be a moderate dust protector also, there is none, thats why I put this forward.
The compartments inside (which would normally hold storage cards etc) would help as my phone would probably also be in the flip cover inside this media case, also the case is the right dimensions. This is probably the most protection I could give the phone in my line of work, otterbox etc do not make these types of cases, it would only be used for work, thats what makes it more difficult to find.

I have the case, the only thing that bothers me is the phone fits so tight it feels like it's going to break when I try to pull it out. This is when I want to answer the phone, I don't do speakerphone and I don't have the bt all the time. The phone just feels like I'm bending it when I take it out the hard case. I like soft cases just my preference.

Totally understandable. I get there aren't a lot of cases available. Seems most wait until after a phone release before they start making cases for it unlike the iPhone where they're making cases before the phone has it's big reveal.

Very similar to the one I ordered. I hope mine fits as tight as yours does since I've no intentions of removing it. I actually keep 2 BT headsets charged and just swap when battery dies.
I always just buy a TPU case for about $4 for all my devices and couple it up with a 3-for-$2 screen protector pack from eBay. They don't add that much weight or bulk, they're cheap, and they get the job done well enough for me. I'm also the kind of guy who takes good care of his stuff for the most part though. So they might not be as protecting as say, an otter box.

I could NEVER rock an Otterbox no matter how much protection they provide. Everything about it just screams MANly.

Haha, well then I guess I'm not that manly. >_< I just don't like them because of how much bulk they add to the phone. Plus, in my opinion, they're ugly. While I usually just stick with a plain or not-highly-decorative TPU case, they offer all kinds of designs and colors for however you want your phone to look.
I've abused an iPhone 4 in an Otterbox Defender for over 2 years, replaced the case twice , while the phone still looks new. The rubber surround of the Defender case even saved my phone, as I once left the phone on the Roof of my car while I drove 20 miles away. I can live with the looks. Give me protection.

I bought a "Flip PU Leather Cove #FG from wuyouguo2110 on ebay for $5 shipped. This thing is actually great quality for what I paid. It did come from china but I had it within the week I ordered it even though they quoted a 2-3 week delivery window.
I am probably going to order a couple more in different colors. I bought this one because it protects all four corners entirely and raises the screen up if you flip the phone onto it's face so you don't get any sand scratches.

Somehow I can't wrap my mind around driving 20 miles and the phone remaining on top of the car. Just can't picture it.
I purchased this case from eBay. Really pleased with it as it doesn't compromise the design of the phone and goes well with both business and casual attire.

Not to take the thread off topic - but here's my Otterbox Defender Case story correction - it was a 15 mile journey face down on the roof of my van.

Dear Otterbox,
When i upgraded to Iphone 4, in September 2010 - I asked my IT support
folks for a recommendation for the best Iphone 4 case.
They told me the Otterbox Defender case was the best choice, so I
ordered one and this case has proved to be invaluable protection for
my Iphone 4.
Last November, I relocated across town 15 miles away, to be closer to
my work. I always keep my iPhone nearby. I had been listening to
internet talkradio while packing - but my old residence was in a
fringe area with poor AT&T coverage, so i was used to periodic
dropouts.
In my haste in loading my Van, with arms loaded with boxes, I
carelessly left my iphone in its Otterbox Defender rubber case, face
down on the roof of my minivan - and drove off - heading north on
Highway 101 at 70 miles an hour for the 15 mile commute to my new
place.
After 15 minutes on the freeway, As I took the off-ramp, I was
alerted to hear a curious sound of internet talk radio coming from
just outside my van. I pulled over, and was shocked to discover the
"talkradio" I heard was indeed my iPhone 4, still resting face down on
the roof of my car - just where I had carelessly left it.
With your Otterbox Defender, I want to thank all of you for designing
the best iPhone 4 case on the planet! its rubber housing "gripped" the
convex curved roof of my '98 Plymouth Voyager like a monster magnet,
and enabled me to save +$600 in replacement costs for a new Iphone 4
32GB.

I've ordered one too, taken me all day but here goes:-
1) "Sandisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 Micro SD Card with SD Adapter"
£40.86
Not bad considering Carphone warehouse want £549.95 for the handset alone.
Not sure if the neoprene will be made for a note 2 or 1, hopefully the official case on the note 2 will still let it go into the pouch to completely cover it at work.
Just need an official car charger and HDMI lead and thats it, for now..
thanks for all the replies today.

Nice order Liam. The grey flip cover really shows the phone off, I love it! The SGP protector is hardly noticable when its on the phone too.
Yeah I looked at CPW (£549) and Phones 4 U (£569) both more expensive and Argos at (£529) but never in stock.
Everything on your list should really compliment your new phone.
I ordered the blue Neoprene cover, there were 4 colours in total, thanks for the link.

And to think I am just going to rough it with just probably a skin on the back. Maybe the flip case by Samsung.... When the back gets scratched up just replace the case.
i just bought the official samsung flip case for £19 at play.com
Sure it only really just protects the screen (so no protection if you drop it), but its the only case out there that does not really add to the already massive phone And it looks really cool to be honest. Similar to the ipad flip cover.

Curious, does anybody have a picture of the front of the otterbox? The AT&T link only shows the back?
I went to the otterbox website and they don't have it listed!
Agree, though I have used them on a couple phones and like them except for the color. I just wish they would offer some colors. Black is boring!!!!
Woman carry smartphones!!!
This!
I love Otterbox cases and I always get colorful ones - never black. I drop my phone more than I care to admit plus my one-year-old son loves to pick up my phone when I'm not looking. ha!
My husband had an EVO LTE that he dropped on the concrete. The screen shattered (and it did not land on the screen side). He had a thin TPU case on it at the time. Ever since then, thin cases are not for me.

Actually took a look at the Defender case for the Note 1 - I assume the Defender case for the Note 2 will look similar?
Curious if the Otterbox "commuter" will be released for the note 2? It's a bit less bulky and might be nice for daily use - I plan to get the defender case for outdoors stuff (snowboarding, running, etc).

Have any of you guys ever removed (cut out?) the screen protector from a Defender case? I want impact protection, a belt clip and a kickstand but I don't want to hide that beautiful scratch-resistant screen behind another piece of plastic.

For that just get the commuter. Or you can wait for trident or ballistic to come out with their cases.
