Default Can you silence the note 2 while the phone is asleep?

Sometimes i forget to silence my phone before work and ill get a call while taking an order and hate to pull my phone out and turn it off, is there anyway to put the phone on silence in my pocket or am I destined to silence the call and change my volume settings later?

Hold the on off button on the right hand side of the phone for a few seconds then you'll see the following options:
Power Off
Airplane Mode
Restart
Then at the bottom Mute Vibrate Sound
Choose Mute.

If your phone does it (some carriers dont apparently) set up blocking mode to turn all the noises off while at work - automatic every day - and turn off blocking mode at weekends. You still have to turn blocking mode back on though! Its a pity there is not more than one time period available to set up.

Love blocking mode, but it would be great if it had a few more options, like different times for weekends.

Still, I feel like a get a more restful sleep without notification sounds and LED blinking disturbing me.

You could flip the script and enable blocking mode for the workday.
