Default Waiting for AT&T to push Multi-Window Update Today...but first, a question...

6:10am Eastern. No update pushed yet.

That's fine. Been patient for this long waiting for AT&T to finally push a software update allowing multi-window use on the Note II.

Thing is, now that I have checked for a software update this morning, all further checks come with a message:

Current software is up to date. You may check again in 22hours and 44minutes.

When the software update finally gets pushed later today will software update allow me to check for it or do I have to wait the time out?

This may be a real stupid question, but I rarely do any updates on this phone because AT&T rarely pushes any.

Will there be an update notice in the pull-down notification area?

I'm obviously not up to speed on things, but who/what said that this update would be pushed today? This is just the first I'm hearing about it.

I checked Kies as well and no update was given. I had heard/read that AT&T might not do this update OTA. I still haven't gotten any notification from AT&T about the update so I guess we'll just have to keep checking manually in the meantime.

The update is 4.1.2, with Multi-Window. Don't know if it includes the processor bug fix. A lot of AT&T apps are multiwindow compatible. One thing you can't do that I saw here:
Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 New Features: Swap Notification Icons, 480p Flash Video Fix, Ink Effect - YouTube
Can't customize the notification panel. - at least it's not in the same place.

I tried mine and now have to wait 20 hours to check again. I remember reading somewhere that there is a way to reset the clock so I can check again bypassing the 24 hour window. anyone have any idea on how this is done?

Google does wonders! I unchecked the automatic time/date in my phone and changed it to Saturday. Checked for updates and it is available.

Hoping someone can help out...

It seems like AT&T (or perhaps all the carriers) are only allowing you to check their server for an update once per day.

I am finding in order to keep checking to see if my phone is getting today's update is to turn off the auto date and time, manually change the date forward, and then do another software check.

So far I am up to January 7, 2013.

Really, is there a better way to do this?

Its not the 4.1.2 update. Its just an OTA for multi Window feature.

Well then I may be mistaken. I do know the video you linked with 4.1.2 is for international versions. With the way each carrier is handling features a 4.1.2 update for AT&T may be different than others. Was there an official change log put out by AT&T covering what else was in update.

I wasn't expecting 4.1.2 either from the posts I've seen. I know the video I linked to is the international version, but one can still be hopeful.

Slow update but finally done!

Sadly the ink effect still does not work. Lots of nice colors to choose from but not so awesome if it doesn't work!

You have to use the S-Pen on the lock-screen. I think it only works on the "swipe screen to unlock" screen. My work enforces a PIN lock through exchange and the ink effect doesn't work when I have to enter my PIN.

I am on Verizon which allows me to check as often as I like but when I used to be on AT@T I remember having this issue. I don't remember exactly how to do it but I do remember that if you go to settings, applications, all that there is an app listed in their for checking for updates. Just click on that app and then clear cache and it will allow you to check for updates each time you do this without having to change your clock on your device. Sorry that I can't remember the app name though but should be fairly obvious when you spot it.

I just applied the MultiView Update from AT&T. Although its advertised as "OTA" - just to be clear, it requires a Wi-Fi connection to install.
Good so far.

After I first checked the availability of the AT&T Update on my Note2 at 7:00pm this evening pacific time, I actually declined to update. and then after some time researching online with my main PC, later I was able to successfully install the update after it requested I connect to a Wi-Fi network.
It took about 15 minutes for the update to download, then it prompted for a reboot, then it took about 5 minutes to apply the update, and (may be coincidence) several of my 145 installed Android apps were updated to be compatible with Android 4.1.2

I was able to get it here in Atlanta yesterday. I am disappointed that the Notification Panel is not included. I would use it more than Split Window.

Is there an app that will check software updates rather than having to go through this date advancing song-and-dance?

Anyone notice that the continual launch screens for the S-Pen and Headphones are no longer there after the update? So when I used to remove the S-Pen an additional home screen would appear with s-pen apps, and when I used to plug in headphones a headphone home screen would appear. Is this just me? If not just me is it AT&T or Samsung?

Update: I am an idiot, had Page Buddy off.

I'm with ATT as well. Checked for update, it was there, installed without a hitch. Unfortunately, the haptic feedback when I am using Messaging cannot be turned off. I've tried every trick there is. Rather annoying but not fatal. Googled it long enough to find out that other people are experiencing the same thing and that a solution is not available, short of reinstalling the update, which I am not inclined to do for such a small issue.

Try pulling your SIM and doing a restart? Don't know if it will help but it won't hurt anything.

I did the AT&T OTA upgrade around 6PM yesterday and it went through smoothly, albeit slowly. The whole process took a solid 40 minutes or so.

On a different note (pun not intended), WiFi stopped working after the update. It's stuck on "obtaining IP address" and it will not connect.

After playing with the multi view for a few minutes, I am not 100% sure that it is something I would use. At least not just yet.

It seems to me like it would be easier to just swap tasks if there was something that I needed to check really quick.

Cool feature regardless and I am certain that in time I will find use for it.

For now I just wonder why the WiFi stopped working.
