Default Third-Party On-Screen Keyboard and Bluetooth Keyboard

I am using a Samsung Note II LTE. In addition to the Samsung Qwerty keyboard, I also have the SwiftKey 3 app installed, and which I use as the default input method.

Whenever I attempt to pair an external bluetooth keyboard, the phone will prompt me to switch back to Samsung Qwerty. I can only click "OK", as there are no other options.

Subsequently, I can then manually select SwiftKey, or for that matter any other on-screen keyboard (OSK) app, and both the OSK and the external bluetooth keyboards will work just fine.

Is this a system limitation?

How can I configure the phone such that it will not bug me to switch to the Samsung Qwerty keyboard (when another OSK is already the default and is in use) whenever I attempt to pair and use my bluetooth keyboard?

I think Samsung made it automatically default to its default keyboard thinking it's used in a dock. This also happens to me but using a wired USB keyboard with a USB OTG cable. It's annoying and there doesn't seem to be a setting to fix it either.
