Default music player or gallery usage

Hi all - iv had the note 2 for over months now . Awesome bit of kit. Battery is lasting me 2 days of avg use which is great. One thing thats slightly annoying is how the gallery or music player app will use up anything from 25 to 35 % battery even though im not using them.
I may have opened them initially ..even after closing they seem drain the battery ..odd. Any ideas ? Stock rom stock launcher ..

Thanks...
