I got my Note 2 a few days ago and so far I love it! When I bought the phone, I bought one of the cases they had at the store, which was the Incipio LGND case. The case is nice, but I was worried about using it in the car mount. I wasn't sure if it would be secure and the case would have to be folded back in order to attach it to the mount, so I wanted a slimmer case.
So, I ordered from Amazon the Elago G6 slim fit case in metallic dark grey. The car mount I ordered is the iOttie one touch mount.

I have the Ottie car mount. I did not clean my windshield before I stuck it on and/or maybe there was dirt on the suction cup, but it fell off my windshield twice. My phone wasn't in the mount when it fell off, thank goodness. I also have a TomTom that I stick on and take off several times a day and have never had it fall off. I was surprised since rhe Ottie has such positive reviews. I am going to assume it was due to dirt or something, but I cant bring myself to put my phone in it now.
From the Amazon link, elago G6 looks nice'n'slim but will offer you no protection if it drops (hardly any visible screen lip).
Regarding issue with iOttie, that is strange because their claim to fame is having this super suction cup that sticks to uneven surface, like grainy dashboard, etc. Dirt on a windshield shouldn't be a problem. Are you sure there wasn't any protective film inside of the suction cup? Otherwise, I would send it back and get a replacement.

No, I had taken the film off. I will contact them and see what they say about it. Thanks.
I opted to this type mount, had several different models that were suction cup type. I didn't care much for location, to far to reach, and most don't stick to dash board without a disk with no texture. I seen one on Amazon that is suppose to work on texture dashboards, but decided to go with the CD mount. I just ordered the same car mount. I hope it's as good as they claim, only reason I ordered it was because of the positive reviews
That's why I decided on this mount also. It had a lot of positive reviews from Note 2 owners. People say it can be used with a case on your phone also. Can't wait to get it!
I have the iOttie myself and really like it. I had a cheap, crappy car mount before that totally flaked out on me. After reading the positive reviews on the iOttie, figured I'd give it a try. So far, it's been perfect.
The elago case is very nice. The color is very close to the color of the phone. Its a nice hard plastic that fits great and has all the cutouts, which are nice and clean. I only wish it had a little more grip to it.
The iottie car mount looks great! I was sitting in my car for about 10min and I can't find a good spot to mount it!! Where have you guys mounted yours? Can you post some pics if possible?

I just ordered the same case. Is it as slippery as the phone w/out a case?
I finally found a nice spot for my car mount! I can't believe I didn't think of this spot the first time I tried. I will post a picture of it tomorrow.
I like the case. It offers some grip, but if your hands are cold it can be a little slippery.
Just got mine today. I love the color but it's a little too slippery for the size of this phone.
Yea, I feel the same way.
The look and thickness of the case is perfect, but sometimes it's a little too slick. I wish they added a small part on the sides with some kind of texture to improve grip.
