Ive installed a Text Widget and going to add titles to each of my screens;

1. Main Screen

2. Business Screen
tools will be calendar, calculator, agenda, notes, etc

3. Games/Internet
this will be games of course, Netflix , Play, PowerAmp

4. Not decided

5. System
stuff like settings, blootooth shortcut, display, file explorer, stuff like that

I use Go Launcher Ex and that's a Steampunk theme, the pics are Animated widget contact pro app. I use widgets for most of my things, which is why I have 8 homescreens.

Nice! you must be in TX. I got a view like that too, will look for a pic, sitting back from the road a good bit. Whats a photon? Were you able to take a screen shot using the Note2 functions?

Im guessing that theres really no point in using a Launcher program like Go Launcher EX unless your phone is rooted, right?

Mines not and i did try downloading it last week but it drove me crazy for all the icons that downloaded with it just led me to more apps to download.
After looking at it for awhile i just figured it was best with a rooted phone.

I am right on that, correct?

No my phone is not rooted. Just play with it for a while you'll find something you like. There are a lot of launchers it's just takes a little patience and you'll have the phone just the way you want it. 👌

Dead wrong...LOL. I've been using 3rd party launchers since I first made the Android transition with the Evo 4G 2.5 years ago.

Started with Launcher Pro Plus, until the Developer didn't really have time to keep it up to date, moved to Go Launcher Ex (until it was getting too bloated, that it was getting a slight lag in performance) and then moved to Nova Launcher, since it was built for ICS and up devices.

I have had a fantastic experience with all of them until now and I still haven't rooted my phone (yeah, I'm sure some of the vets still shake their head whenever they read me write that). My experience is that the 3rd party launchers have proven to have less lag than any of the OEM launchers, as well as much more customization.

at least you threw an LOL in there, that makes the 'dead wong' even more palatable. (Kidding)
Besides, this is a "GOOD" wrong meaning the poster has all the neat options one thought only rooted devices can do...

XD. XD
It's a common mis-conception. Even most of the reviews you see for phones. Far too many times do I see critiques on a phone based mostly on the oem ui without any mention whatsoever regarding android's ability to load a 3rd party launcher which will enhance the user experience and give a completely customizable ui, that will deam the oem ui insignificant.

So sad that most reviews don't even touch on that huge difference between android and apple because it's such a significant difference.

i am thinking the non 3rd party promos are a carrier driven greedy way to force only their bloat and google rarher we use their tools first over 3rd parties even though their "market" is full of 3rd prty launchers. i never use the default launchers . nevCarder did in my untrusty ole winmo stikky to frozen screen days till now.

i is a customizing foo!

Not talking about 3rd party promos, I'm talking about many reviews from the media and blog sites. It's rare where they'll ever mention 3rd party launchers and if they do, it's always in passing where people not familiar with Android will have no clue what they are talking about until they actually read about it.

The UI is always, without fail, included in reviews made of the phone. Problem is, Android isn't limited to the OEM UI, like the iPhone is and people who purchase the phone aren't even aware that there are 3rd party launchers (e.g. UI's) that can be used, that won't slow down their phone (and possibly help performance). That's why I never pay attention to reviews that pull the phone's score down, simply based on the UI (and I'm not referring to the back end of the UI, I'm strictly referring to the front end...aka homescreen customization).

After looking at it for awhile i just figured it was best with a rooted phone.

I am right on that, correct?
Nope you are not correct in thinking that you have to be rooted to use a good 3rd party launcher.

I started changing things with CircleLauncher Lite (which is not really what is most often referred to as a launcher) working with TouchWiz. It gives the ability to customize icons on your screen that act like folders for your apps.

The problem is I wanted more and someone said to try Nova. Wow! It is a what I call a skinner not just a launcher. I combine it with CircleLauncher Lite. I am not very good at creating special effects and don't come close to using all the available features but thanks to Nova and CircleLauncher Lite I have a much enhanced experience over TouchWiz.

Also there are several other tools out there that work with Nova that it seems to me that you can do most anything tou your interface without being rooted.

Shouldn't have an affect on motions or S-pen at all, from what people have stated in their experiences.

I use the S-Pen a lot and haven't run into any problems with the tasks that I like using.

A lot of the launchers are free, unless you go with the premium versions (for added features), so the best way to see which one works best for you and if they have any effect on the motions/s-pen features you like using, is just to download and try. If you don't like it, uninstall. That's what is so great. You can try it out and there's no financial obligation to you.

Default Galaxy Note 2 Built In Print To Printer Feature

Did other devices have a print to printer feature? I found this one udner the 'Shortcut / Activities" settings.... the only thing is , you can only print to a Sony printer using this feature.

(I use PrintHand an app that send jobs from my T.E.D.5 to a wireless printer)

Default GALAXY NOTE II FEATURE: "Callback Shortcut in Messaging!"

After reading an SMS , occasionally I neeed to call the contact person, ive tried long-press the contact name in the left panel... nothing happens. then I long press the message in the right panel to 'load' it, next, click "menu" then scroll to the call option, which are too many steps.... but I hated backing out then loading the contacts list and scrolling to the person's name in the SMS message.

I happened upon a shortcut: just place your finger on the contac's name in SMS then do a short swipe to the right and it CALLS the contact back like that!

Or if you have gestures turned on you can just lift the phone to your ear and it'll call the contact whose SMS your on.
